Schwan's Fruit to Go Cups Product Review

Eva Gallant
With the busy lives we lead, we're always looking for delicious, table-ready, or nearly-table-ready foods. Personally, I don't even like making the trip to the grocery store; at this time of year, the aisles are crowded with campers from nearby beaches looking to stock up for their stay, and there are always lines at the checkout.

Schwan's is a company that delivers frozen foods to your door. The products are high quality in most cases and a little pricier than the supermarket, but I find it worth it to be able to shop on line or by catalogue, and have my order delivered to my home for a $1.00 delivery fee. The Schwan's man will stop by every two weeks with his freezer truck full of goodies. If you haven't placed an order ahead of time by phone at 1-888-SCHWANS or on line at schwans.com, you can order items on the spot, but the possibility exists that the driver may be sold out of an item you want that day.

Schwan's Fruit To Go Cups are a blend of diced peaches, pineapple, and raspberries in white grape juice concentrate. A package contains six 4 ounce cups, each being equal to one serving of fruit. The cups can be defrosted overnight in the refrigerator, in a couple of hours at room temperature, or in the microwave for 30 to 45 seconds. (I like them after 30 seconds because they remind me of a vacation I had in Aruba where they brought you frozen fruit on a stick while you were sun-bathing by the pool!)

The fruit is all natural and grade A produce. They are delicious and are perfect with breakfast, as a low calorie snack (just 80 calories), or as a light dessert. Also, they are perfect to put in your child's lunch bag with a plastic spoon, or to put in your own bag lunch for work.

So we're looking at a product that is both nutritious and delicious! The cost is $6.99 per package or $1.17 per serving, worth it for the taste and convenience.
