Pros
Since this machine comes unassembled you will need some time to put the pieces together. Luckily all the tools required are already included and the instruction manual is pretty straightforward. If you choose to assemble it alone it would take about an hour or so to complete.
With 12 workout programs you can be sure this bike can keep you in shape. However, if you just want to get going just hit the quick start button and start pedaling. The pedaling movement is smooth and on the highest setting it can really put up a fight.
If you enjoy watching TV while exercising you'll love the noise-free operation of this exercise bike. Even on high RPM this machine just whispers gently. The build quality seems good so it will most likely remain silent for a long time.
Sitting on the bike feels comfortable and adjusting the seat is easily adjustable too. Even though it's a heavy machine (over 100 pounds) moving it around the room is easy since it got small wheels at the bottom which really helps when you push or drag it.
Cons
The first minus point for this bike is the handle bar. It is impossible to grasp the handle bar while leaning on the backrest (unless you have ridiculously long arm). Another minor fault is the magazine rack. It is very small so you can only put one magazine in it.
Conclusion
The Schwinn 220 recumbent exercise bike is a high quality bike with a reasonable price tag (less than $350). It's filled with all the bells and whistles you'll find on more expensive models and the operation is smooth and quiet. Even though it has some minor faults but overall it's a sound choice for anyone who needs good exercise equipment at home.
