Pros
Out of the box The Schwinn Evo Comp requires some assembly. The good thing is assembly is very easy. It does have plenty of parts so you may need about two hours to get everything in one piece.
The Evo comp has all the advantages and features of the old Airdyne which includes dual action workout, comprehensive computer control and built-in heart rate monitor. Just like the original Airdyne the Evo Comp is also a very well built, solid and sturdy machine. Just like the old Airdyne this one bound to stand the test of time and will last for years to come. The design also looks sleek and compact.
The wheel now uses wider and contoured blades that improve air resistance. It is also smoother during operation and gives less vibration. Another advantage of the new blades is it doesn't blow air on you like the old Airdyne.
With the old Airdyne watching TV while exercising is an annoying experience. The sound coming from the chain and wheel blades are too loud. Even if you turn up the volume the noise is just too annoying. With the Airdyne Evo Comp that is no longer a case. Since it now uses belt, plus the new blade design mentioned above, it is just as quiet as other bikes using magnetic resistance system.
Cons
The Schwinn Airdyne Evo Comp exercise bike was not made for short people. If you have short legs even the lowest seat setting is still a challenge.
Secondly, the pedals on this bike really don't fit the price tag. For a $750 bike you would expect Schwinn would at least invest in good pedals. Anyway if you buy this bike you may want to buy aftermarket pedals.
Conclusion
The Schwinn Airdyne Evo Comp exercise bike is highly recommended for anyone who needs a good workout at home. Physical therapists recommend this and it's for a good reason. It works well and its high build quality means it will last many years so you don't have to buy a new machine every other year.
