"John wake up. Wake up John, this is important." John regained his consciousness to see before him a machine like no other. "What happened?" said John rubbing his head and squinting as though in mild head pain. "You hit your head on the metal energy converter and have been passed out for about five minutes" replied John's colleague. "I was dreaming of a place...it wasn't real but real" said John. "What are you talking about, you've been here the whole time, unconscious" said Dr. H.L. Mintoro. "I' think you've been spending too much time working on this machine" The Doctor added. "Yes, maybe you're right Harold, and to top it off I may have concussion, that's always good isn't it." John said in a joking squirm. "Now you're making sense" said the Doctor, "Let's call it a night and get that head of yours checked out, we need it here on Earth." "That sounds like a good idea, I'll see you tomorrow Harold. Don't worry about the mess, I'll have everything tidy by then." replied John.
As Doctor Mintoro agreed, said goodnight and walked out the door John felt a strange feeling and saw that one of his favorite titanium screw drivers had bent in half. This was strange for John as he had never seen a screw drive so mishapen, even from hard use. It had been an unsual day indeed and John was tired. The ethereal and astral realms were quickly to be a lost dream in John's busy life. At least that was what he thought to himself as he continued on with his routine. John was a brilliant engineer and physicist who was working on a project with a few other very accomplished scientists in the Space-Time Theoretical Applications Department of a private company. This project was the latest in cutting edge physics research on space travel and was to utilize experimental materials and concepts in a beta type application called 'future scope'. Future scope was for all intents and purposes the theoretical application of a time machine; while it was mostly a highly sophisticated computerized machine it was also able to alter the atomic space around it. In doing so the energy and space in front of the machine could be adjusted, tested, callibrated in ways that had been untested to date. For John, the project outcome seemed unlikely, it was an obscure theory from a physicist of humble background and no great scientific accomplishment, yet for some reason, the company Novastar Dimensional Interfaces International Group had opted to finance the project.
What John didn't know was his dream was real. Like a few rare others before him John had inadvertantly activated a dormant part of his brain by hitting it at just the right spot and in just the right way to open a normally dull sense in the human mind. He had somehow glimsed far into the future, into a time well beyond his. It was a time where physical Worlds were not known to exist and dimensional awareness was common. It was the time of the ethereals and the astrals. Why John had been able to glimpse this was strange and unknown to him. However, it was no coincidence, it was meant to happen. For some reason the Unconscious awareness had pre-destined this event in the architecture of the future. Future Scope was to be more than just a routine experimental engineering project, it was to be an ingredient in the makings of a future world, a world not even known by the astrals and the ethereals.
