Science GED Study Materials - Where to Find Free Sample Tests

Each year more than 700,000 people take the General Educational Development exam, according to the American Council on Education, the agency that created the GED in 1940 and that has administered it ever since. Of those, about 400,000 pass the GED in full - leaving about 300,000 with portions completed, but needing to retake some sections. For many test takers the science GED section is the hardest, especially for people who did not complete many years of formal education. Don't despair, though - free printable science GED sample tests are easy to find if you know how, and are motivated to study for the high school equivalency exam.

Science GED Sample Tests

The GED has five subsections: Science, Social Studies, Math, Language Arts Reading and Language Arts Writing. Each section is structured differently, some with multiple choice questions and others with essays. The science section, like the others, must be passed with a score of 410 or higher, and the total score for passing the GED must be a 2250.

The more time you study, and the more you familiarize yourself with these GED study guides, the greater your chance for success. Most people studying for the general educational development exam are doing so for a specific purpose: to start a college program, advance at work, or get into a military program. The science GED is part of the whole process of moving into a new phase of your life, so the time you invest in studying is time well spent.

The tests offered by the American Council on Education andMcGraw Hill are 100 percent free, but there are more study options than free printable GED tests. keep in mind that there are free study prep materials for the GED at your local library. Most bookstores also stock GED prep books that cost $25 or less.

If you're not enrolled in a GED prep course, call a local community college and ask about courses - most community colleges off free, government-subsidized programs to help you launch your education, and some, like Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester, Massachusetts, even provide free tuition for your first semester of college.
