Science and Religion

A Powers
Science and I have a love-hate relationship.
It was my favorite subject in school.
I am addicted to documentaries.
Science is fascinating.
But as I get older, it is also frustrating.
Too many facts taken on a self-righteousness
that puts pressure on my toes.
Just because we know something doesn't make it true.
Science that doesn't recognize science fiction as its parent makes my ass tired.
So from now on science is going to be different.
From now on, rainbows are prisms of light and moisture
and a gateway between worlds.
Rings of toadstools are both functions of nature and of the fey.
From this day forward, no scientist will laugh at the paranormal
and no clergy will have reason to argue with teachers.
From now on, things are not only what we see in beakers
but also in each other.
