Scientologists Blame Mental Health Field for Shootings

Jerald
Less then 6 hours after the shootings at Virginia Tech the Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) put out a press release blaming psychiatric drugs and the mental health field for the 32 deaths. They put this press release out a full day before the identity of the shooter was even known. How sick does this group have to be to start using the deaths of 32 children before the bodies had even been removed from the crime scene?

I thought scientology had hit it's lowest a couple of months ago when they protested in a small town over this very same subject as the victim was being laid to rest. The very same day they were on the streets demanding to know if the shooter in this case was on meds also. They would have found out in a few days when the police report came out, but why pass up a stunt to promote their twisted views? So this so called church protested on the day of the burial in this small town.

Now yet another scientology front group is trying to use this shooting to raise funds. Their Way To Happiness front group is now trying to collect money to send their silly little booklet to Virginia Tech in huge numbers. They are asking for money to blanket the area with this very silly booklet written by L Ron Hubbard. It's says murder is not a nice thing to do. Do we really need to be told this?

And now they are sending their Volunteer Ministers (VM) to the scene. This is the same group that was on site after 9/11. They were caught trying to lure trama victims from seeing the people trained to help them. They were told to leave the area and snuck back in. Still trying to keep people from getting the help they needed from the people trained to help trauma victims. They even conned Fox News into running their phone number as a mental heath hotline until they were caught. Again with the goal of keeping people from talking to trained mental health people.

If you read this and are outraged then we agree. This is one of the sickest things I have seen this group do. What can you do about it?

1. Write your local paper and tell them what you think. . Let your voice be heard.

2. Call your congressman or woman, Ask they why this group pays no taxes. If they are going to reap the benefits of a church then need to start acting like one.

3. Call scientology and it's front groups and tell them what you think of their behavior. Be nice and polite but firm.

4. Learn more about scientology and it's many front groups. Did you know they run a drug program that claims a 70 to 90 percent success rate? (Narconon )? No insurance will pay for it because every study done says it's very unsafe. Yet they take at least 20 thousand dollars from families desperate to save their loved ones.

Find out the truth. You will hear and see them tell you the only way to really know the truth is to try scientology. I have never tried being hit on the head with a hammer but i am pretty sure it's not a good thing.

There are many good places to find out the truth. I will list a few here but also please take the time to look for some on your own.
Use your search engine and type;

scientology and crime
scientology and deaths
scientology and harassment
scientology and the irs
scientology and 9/11

There are many other things you can try if you think a bit. The best sites about scientology I know of are;

xenu.net
xenutv.com
whyaretheydead.net
narcnnecosed.org

Read and learn, This group goal is to " clear" the planet. The only way to do this is if ALL OF US become members of scientology. L Ron Hubbard had a quote for those who don't fit into the scientology mode. " Dispose of quietly and without sorrow"

It's time for voices to be heard. Let yours be one of them.

As a mental health professional, it is sometimes difficult to understand how seemingly bright people can fall for and into the residual pseudo-philosophical thought of a 'B' science fiction writer. guess there's no accounting for beliefs - when they are different from ones own.

The way I think it out Dan is that this young man could have gotten the best of help and care and this could have still happend. As much as we know about mental illness there is still so very much to learn. In this case he was commited for less than 72 hours over a year ago. Since he hadn't commited a crime he couldn't be held once they felt he was no longer a danger to himself or others. After that he choose not to recive help. For all of that the shooter was the bad guy. Not police, not the doctors and not even the school. My point in this article was that scientology/cchr has a long history of this kind of thing. They don't want to inpove the field of mental heath or even have it studied more. They flat out want it gone.

The plot thickens! The college doesn't want any accountability on them, and they refuse to hold accountable those people who maliciouslu caused provocation which caused heavy distress to this young man as an affect.

The cops can't be held liable, because they did what they did by the book. He wasn't acting criminally because it was ruled that he was mentally ill by a court of law which committed him.

He broke free from the docs and meds, which was his legal right to do. It's the "not me" generation doing what they do best...pass the buck until the problem goes away. But, we now know that this young man wasn't the problem. It was his decision to act out violently that ultimately became the problem. We know why he made his decision. I have a very sound theory that I won't put out here.

You are right Dan, he wasn't on meds. Yet that is the claim scientology/cchr made in the press releases. And just a bit ago you told us you didn't see anything untrue in the releases. Do you still think it was ok for scientology/cchr to put out a press release they knew was a lie?

  • Jerald9/4/2007

Well we agree that much more study needs to be done all around. The more we know the better we can treat the mentally ill. But Dan, what could the doctors have done to help this young man? Since they were not treating him how is it their fault or meds fault? Just how do you think we should deal with people who act as this shooter did before the event that caused these articles?

  • Dan Hensley9/4/2007

He wasn't on meds, and this is known, but the push is on now to get everyone on meds that shows the slightest hint of personal distress. That needs to be stopped before it can happen. Meds are a form of unlawful force under color of law that if applied to those in distress, would serve to be used fairly if it were applied to all medical patients.

Vague descriptions and definitions of illness in the DSM. Because they arelicensed doctors or other accredited professionals, they can put what they want on paper without being policed or even questioned.

If you go and look around without much effort, it will be found that behavior described as illness was actualy a reasonable person's reaction to, or action on something provoked by others. Even if done in transference. I'm out to take the right of psychiatry to lie and go unquestioned away from them, and make it an honest, respectable profession based on complete investigation, and thorough facts versus someone's best uneducated guess.

We need to know more about these meds that are used, and I know we'll find that there are more effects than we already know about that have gone unreported. These drugs cause long term damage, and it needs to be brought out then made safer.

  • Jerald9/4/2007

Wow Dan, Seems you are not going to let the facts get in your way here. The fact is they put the press release out before they even knew the name of the shooter. Are you implying they knew the name ahead of time? And now that all the tests are in we know the shooter was not on meds. Yet the press release is still on the web sites. Since this young man was not in the care of a doctor then just how is it the fault of doctors that he did what he did? Again now only do you seem to want to have it both ways you also don't seem to be willing to accept the facts here. Why don't we let the readers here take a look at what we have both had to say here and decide for themselves?

  • Dan Hensley9/4/2007

At this juncture, i've seen nothing that proves either beyond a reasonable doubt, or by a preponderence of the evidence that CCHR has lied at all about anything. Fact is that it is more than apparent that CCHR had an inside track on the offender at VT, and this would be a reasonable thought because they have been doing this for years and there are many more psych docs with them than for them.

Those featured in the video are licensed physicians, and that speaks volumes alone. What else speaks volumes also are those who didn't wish to speak to them in their reasonble pursuit to expose psychiatry for the pollitical weapon that it is, and those docs who do care are those who haven't thought for themselves and done the work of looking into things. Had these well meaning docs done so, they would find out that their practice is nothing more than social politics in the form of medicine.

It is well known that 99% of these professionals hide behind vague statements, and even more vague D

And by not correcting the websites the release is still on. I can meet you halfway here. I fight for better controls and better services for the mentally ill everyday. I think far to many people are on these meds. But I also know these meds and these fine doctors save lives and families everyday. But if you are baseing your thoughts and facts from sites like those of scienotology and cchr then you will never meet me halfway or anywhere. For you to excuse the lieing press release tells anyone here reading what they need to know. For me its easy. If a doctor is wrong he is wrong and needs to be delt with. If scientology/cchr is wrong then they too need to be delt with. Again you have skipped over what my article is about. And you really do seem to want it both ways here. Blaming mental health and then saying they shouldn't be able to stop anyone. I have to say I'm confused.
