The file has been removed from Google Video and Bit Torrent. It is unknown if Google Inc. has been threatened with legal action. According to news postings Hannover has asked the references to the film be removed from the internet. Many publishers have removed pages linking to the film.
Scientology, which boasts such members as Tom Cruise, Kate Holmes, Issac Hayes, and Kristie Ally, has long been accused by critics of being overly litigious when it comes to the internet and other matters. This move by the Church of Scientology to remove the movie "The Bridge" is sure to give critics more fuel for their accusations of censorship through the courts.
Some critics claim that Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard once said, "the purpose of the lawsuit
isn't to win, but to harass and intimidate". Many critics contend that this policy is still followed by the Church of Scientology, and they maintain that the Church of Scientology uses this internal policy today to continue to silence through abusive law suits. Thus preventing open discussion of the beliefs of Scientology.
