Scientology or the church of Scientology was founded in 1954 by the late L (Lafayette) Ron, Hubbard, sometimes called Elron. Scientology claims that Hubbard graduated in civil engineering from George Washington University as a nuclear physicist, But university records show that he failed physics and on academic probation during his sophomore.
Scientology also claims that Hubbard graduated with a Ph.D. from Sequoia University in California. Again, there is no proof of any Californian University by that name of Sequoia that grants doctorates.
Scientology church had found itself into troubles with many national governments like US, Australia, Britain and France for it's ecentric teaching. The chuch 's troubles with the US includes raid by FDA, IRS audits, rulings and judgiment, FBI raids of the church office, and indicments of burglary, wiretapping, conpiracy, and obstuction of justice.
Numerous mental health organizatin, professionals and periodicals have decried the church of Scientolgy for their unorthodox treatment which is psychologically dangerous.
Scientology was originated as Dianetics or a set of ideas and practices regarding the relationship between the spirit, mind and body. Hubbard reoganized the movement in 1952 and declared it a religious church. Dianetics was renamed Scientology church.
Scientology teaches that Thetans (men's souls) are all gods. Jesus is not God but a Thetan. Thetan has existed for trillions of years and has gone through countless reincarnations process. This sounds exactly the same as Bhudist or Hindu teachings. Or the Greek religion of many gods.
For salvation, Scientology claims that it can offer through it's psychoanalysis therapy session costs up to a handsome fee of US$ 30,000.00 Hell is a total myth, an invention to contain people to rule.
Scientology teaching is based on Hubbard's writings in his various science fiction books with systematic presentation of psychotherapeutic and religious idea. Church counselors are now called ministers and have even adopted clerical clothing.
The sales of Dianetics and the growth of the Scientology centers were extremely impressive once with estimate all time high membership at more than three millions. It's teaching, however, is emptied often sounded more like eastern fairy tale mixed with a western science fiction. This had been the cause that dwindled down the membership to a mere 200,000 in 1983.
Is Scientology church a cult? The answer is by itself positively clear.

BOYCOTT THESE IDIOTS. Not only is Will Smith making comments about Jews and insulting them by bigging up Hitler, but then then retracts his statement thinking that people are simply stupid and can't go online to see the truth.
He also said he wants to be president. Uh, heeeell nooo! I would NEVER vote to let one of those crazy Scientologist NUTS in my White House. Can you even imagine how they would twist the judicial system?! Nuh-UH! I knew somethin was up with that last movie he made....... "I can save you. Let me help you". This wacko and his REALLY BIZARRE WIFE (Is she even Black anymore?) are really starting to believe the scripts they read. IT IS ONLY SCIENCE FICTION, Will.
I have really had enough of these idiots. I am throwing away all my Will Smith DVDS. He just lost another fan. I'll be damned if I'ma sit back while this FOOL starts popping this madness. Tom and John can go screw themselves. Can you even believe that Katie holmes is KNOCKED UP WITH L. RON HUBBARD'S S
Hi Ann, "Religion or Cult?" The answer is . . .NEITHER. I have had a chance to dig a little deeper than you have, since I dipped into Scientology for about 8 months. The Thetan concept is a bit more complex than you represented in your article, although I would be disengenuous to explain it, since I came to not accept the validity of the concept for me. It is valid for some people.
Scientology doesn't provide the connection to God that I crave in a religion. I wouldn't call it a cult, because there is no one living person that is the leader. So . . . if it's not a cult, and not a religion, what is it? In my eyes, you can get the answer to this by simply walking into the Scientology storefromt on Guadalupe Street , right across the street from The University of Texas at Austin. Go ahead, walk in. Look around. There is a lot to see. Notice that lots of their stuff is for sale. Notice the cash register.
If you do this, your next artical on the subject might
