Everyone's favorite canine crime-solver is back in "Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated: Season One Volume 3." This collects episodes 9 through 12 of the hit Cartoon Network series. To say these new adventures are packed full of mystery, adventure, and humor would be an understatement.
"Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated: Season One Volume 3" continues "the adventures of a talking dog and his four human pals as they try to unravel the strange and haunted history of their hometown, Crystal Cove."
This time around, the gang takes on giant monsters called Humungonauts, a phantom dog named the Fright Hound, a vampire, and a creature called the Char Gar Gothakon with the help of authors H.P. Hatecraft and Harlan Ellison. These four mysteries successfully update the series and characters while still holding on to the charm of the original series. Fans of all ages will find something to love about "Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated: Season One Volume 3."
One complaint I have about "Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated: Season One Volume 3" is its lack of special features. Three volumes in and we still haven't gotten a "Making of" or "Behind the Scenes" featurette. I can't believe that Warner doesn't have a spare cameraman hanging around that could document a little of what goes on in the animating and voicing studios.
My other complaint I have is that Warner won't just put out the whole first season at the same time. I guess they'll probably end up doing that on Blu-ray at some point with a bunch of extra features included. "Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated: Season One Volume 3" only comes in a regular format DVD version. No Blu-ray is available yet.
