Did the former Happy Days and Charles in Charge star ask for it by poking fun at a politician's wife, especially one as high profile and popular like the First Lady? Or is there a double standard for people who show support for Republicans, which Scott Baio is a supporter of Massachusetts Republican Senator-elect Scott Brown, according to the FOXNews.com article, who will take over Ted Kennedy's old Senate seat after winning the election against Martha Coakley January 19?
Scott Baio Receives Death Threat Tweets at Twitter for Tweeting About Michelle Obama: Is There a Double Standard?
I don't condone people making death threats on others for any reason. It's cowardly, and people think they can get away with things like death threat tweets because it's online and not traceable. That line of thinking isn't necessarily true and can get perpetrators in trouble.
Political races bring out a lot of emotions in people, and for Scott Baio to be bringing Michelle Obama into the foray like he did with his tweet just because he disagrees with President Obama's politics is unwise and will invite, at the very least, harsh criticism. He may have meant it as a joke, but there are some things you just don't say about a politician's family member.
Conservatives may cry foul over an apparent double standard because Jennifer Lopez called Sarah Palin "la cabrona", which means "a bitch", last week when she did a monologue on the January 18 edition of Lopez Tonight, which I wrote about at Associated Content here. It's true that Sarah Palin, unlike Michelle Obama, has been an actual political figure who's been in local and state political positions and also has sought the Vice Presidency, but even that doesn't warrant using such colorful language against the woman via calling her "la cabrona" on a nationally-televised program, no matter how stupid and backwoods one thinks the former Alaska governor is.
Scott Baio Has Gotten Death Threat Tweets at Twitter over His Michelle Obama Tweet: There Are More Twitter Followers than Watchers of Many TV Shows
As for Scott Baio getting death threat tweets because of his tweet about Michelle Obama, he needs to "joke" over any disagreements he has with President Obama's policies with the Obama Administration, and leave the Commander-in-Chief's family out of it, because Twitter has lots of people using it. According to Twitterholic.com, many well-known people from President Obama to Britney Spears have millions of followers, bigger numbers than many TV shows.

Post a CommentI agree that death threats are taking it far. Also, I don't think Chachi is a racist, but it is disrespectful to make comments about someone he does not even know. What does he look like when he wakes up in the morning. Fine he does not find her attractive, but sometimes certain things need to be kept to yourself. Obviously, President Obama finds her attractive inside and outside. I am a black female and I more offended. Just because she is not what America's standard of beauty (blonde, blue eyes). She is classy and intelligent. That is more important.
Obama is pathetic and thinks Americans have Moron tatooted on our foreheads... Death threats? those people need to get lives be arrested and violated....
Wow! I am at a loss as to how this is racist. All I got out of it is that he was saying that she was not attractive or worthy of waking up to. Nothing about her skin color was mentioned, and it had nothing to do with the cutting remark. The death threat is outrageous and totally overboard. He was simply stating his opinion.
I have taken a stance. Our President needs our support. why take the low road when there are dozens of Countries that would love to hear how separarted thia Countery is. We are at our most vulnerable at this time. We sound like a bunch of ingrates when we scrape like this
stop it..
Scott should really be defending why he could only find a stripper for a wife.
who is no-looker, but he has gone on record to insult a woman that has risen
from poverty and ,represents the sheer power of the democratic government.
he should have kept his mouth shut, as his is seen and heard around the globe.
P.S. I'm not condoning death threats...it's simple ignorance....as ignorant as his caption.
Same Man - He was making fun of how she looks. What would you call it...difference in taste? It was the caption he wrote as well...to talk about her that way is disgusting..have some dignity.
People can't take a joke? It was the caption you wrote you idiot. Not everyone can be as beautiful as you are...scumbag. Look at you hiding behind tweets....be a man and say to Barack's face. What a clown.
can someone please explain how the hell this tweet is racist? My ignorant middle american mind can't figure this out.
He aint no looker no more either. Stop being a hater.
