Scott Brown Takes the Massachusetts Senate Seat Held by the Late Ted Kennedy and Obama is Still Too Stupid to Realize America Ain't Buying What He is Selling.

Scott Brown has won a special election in Massachusetts that is probably the most liberal state in the nation. That seat was held by the late Senator Ted Kennedy and prior to that John F. Kennedy. A republican victory here clearly shows that America does not want obamacare. The blame game is already starting from the top Democrats. Instead of just admitting people are getting fed up they want to blame Martha Coakley. He actually won a solid victory with 52% of the vote compared with Coakley's 47% in a state were democrats outnumber republicans 3-1. Barack Obama carried the state with 63% of the vote in the 2008 Presidential election.

There are a variety of reasons that I believe are very responsible for Brown winning. First of all the people of Massachusetts had some pride in their heritage and keeping America a great nation and did not just give into what Obama like many senators ( who will become former senators) have done. Approval ratings for Barack Obama have been running at or under 50% lately and the fact that over 91% of blacks blindly support the man without the benefit of intellect ( in many but not all cases) gives and artificially inflated number. Many people rate Obama high on being a good person and being likeable, but when issues are broken down the approval rating goes even lower.

There really was not a single issue that caused this upset. If I had to chose one my first choice would be opposition to the healthcare legislation, the way the democrats are not listening to the American people over healthcare, and the gangster Chicago style politics that caused the healthcare bill to be passed in the senate. The economy is also a major factor, but I think Obama and the Democrats would get the benefit of the doubt temporarily on the economy by those easily fooled. The enlightened minority that voted for the "old man and hot chick" knew all along this would be the case and the stimulus was completely ineffective and long on promise and short on delivery. Some people also correctly figured out that electing Coakley or any other democrat would just be a blank check for Obama instead of doing what is good for the people of the country.

Martha Coakley was favored extremely by double digit leads in the early stages of this campaign. Some think she did not take the campaign seriously. It is very possible that she did not take the campaign seriously. While she did not take the race as seriously as she could, I think voter dissatisfaction was much more of a factor. Also I believe American politics for the next couple years are basically going to be pro-Obama or anti-Obama. Me I was anti-Obama when being anti-Obama was not cool. It was not so long ago that Democrats rode Obama mania to a super majority in the Senate (sort of there were some close races like Minnesota and Alaska) just this last year.

In addition to the economic problems like the 10% unemployment rate that Obama said would not be over 8.5% (you lie) and the massive spending and failure of the stimulus bill many probably realized this was the last chance to keep the socialist from taking over our healthcare system and destroying it. There are a variety of things that people were upset over healthcare. First of all the only thing about healthcare that was bi-partisan was the opposition to it as many democrats in the House of Representatives voted against it. The only republican congressman to vote for it was from a black district and political analysts said he did it trying to keep his job since the district wanted to try a recall election because he would not back Obama's Stimulus bill. I would not call that true bi-partisanship. Many Senate Democrats did not like the bill but were given back room deals and others just would not stand up for what their constituents wanted. Many of them will probably being losing jobs coming up. Some have chosen to retire like Chris Dodd as he knew he was going to lose. The dirtiest things done during the bill negotiations were Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska got his state exempted from having to pay its share of Medicare and Mary Landrieu got 300 million to help off set the costs of the increased Medicare funding.

With healthcare corruption in congress and the debate surrounding it, there are people trying to figure out how to ram this through without another senate vote. People have been screaming "no we don't want this" and Obama and his cronies still are not listening as evident in this last election. Wait till voters in Arkansas, Nebraska, and Louisiana, and Virginia get their say in the voting booth. Instead of doing the smart thing and listening to voters the democrats have other plans. One plan is they are looking at trying to finish this before Senator Brown takes office. Democrats at first implied they may delay seating him, but now they deny this. Democrat Jim Webb of Virginia actually said Majority Leader Harry Reid should seat him immediately. Another thing the Democrats are doing, in addition to not listening to their constituents, is to approve the version passed by the Senate as is. By doing this they can go with a simply Majority vote and not need to overcome a filibuster. This is strongly against the will of the people. It is very possible this may happen. The bill will end up not doing much but costing money and ticking voters off in the process.

I do partially think this could make him a good president since he does not have a free reign the way he used to with the one party politics. He will have to consider the will of the people and not just what he wants to do. His allies in congress might also start listening to their constituents and not worry about handing Obama wins.
