Scott or Cottonelle: Which is the Best Toilet Paper?

Pat Lunsford
"Common sense on a roll" is the slogan for Scott toilet tissue, and it is absolutely correct. Comparing the price of Scott toilet tissue to other brands it appears to be more expensive, but comparing how long it lasts, Scott is actually the better buy.

Are you getting your money's worth with the brand of toilet paper that you buy? Spendthrifts look for the best deal for their money, but not all spendthrifts recognize the better deal. Typically, a cheaper product is cheaper for a reason.

Do you find yourself constantly putting a new roll of toilet paper in the bathroom? Are you always adding toilet paper to your shopping list? Scott toilet tissue lasts much longer. If you have to purchase twice as much of your regular brand compared to Scott toilet tissue, what are you saving? Are you actually paying more?

What about softness? Scott toilet tissue is soft, but not so much that it swells up, clogging your pipes and septic tanks. People with health problems like hemorrhoids, look for the softest paper they can find, no matter what the cost. If you don't have those kinds of health problems, why pay the extra money for bulky toilet paper?

Cottonelle boasts a soft toilet tissue but you will go through at least two rolls of Cottonelle before going through one roll of Scott. Changing the roll twice as much with Cottonelle, you have to buy twice as much as with Scott toilet tissue. If you need so much softness, or just happen to like really soft toilet tissue and don't mind paying for it, then Cottonelle is a good choice. But Scott toilet tissue is cheaper in the long-run and the most practical.

With simple arithmetic, you can see how many sheets per roll you get with Cottonelle, compared to Scott toilet tissue. The next time you are in the store, read the labels and do the math. An elementary student could see the difference.

Therefore, if you suffer health problems requiring bulky toilet tissue or just prefer it and don't mind the extra expense, Cottonelle is a good choice. If you are looking for a good quality toilet tissue at a reasonable price, Scott is the best choice. Once you see the quality, see how long it lasts, not having to change or shop for it as often, you will see. Scott toilet tissue is truly, "common sense on a roll".

This reads like an advertisement for Scott. Probably a paid one.
