Music is a tough business and is even tougher for those under 18. But this has not deterred Scott Isbell of Acton, Massachusetts from striving to live his dream. Scott's vocal ability and his bulldog determination has landed this young singer one of the fourteen spots in the Music On and Up 18 & under competition on October 24 at Boston's hottest club, the Hard Rock Cafe.

Scott's dream has always been to perform. As a vocalist and an actor, Scott has been living the dream in many ways. As an actor he has had many roles in community theaters, on TV in commercials and in the Emmy Award winning Aqua Kids , and in film as 'Chris the Magician' in the feature film Ironsides. As talented of an actor Scott is, it is his writing and performing of his music that truly allows Scott to shine.

With a vocal style that has been compared to Justin Bieber and Micheal Jackson, Scott captivates his audience from the first note. Powerful on Hip Hop, soulful on his ballads, Scott strong vocals and skillful use of scatting has him quickly becoming a heart throb among the girls. His drive for excellence has also captured the attention of professionals in the music business as well, landing him as an opener for some big acts, including Lord Jamar of Brand Nubian.

Music On & Up is a excellent opportunity for young musicians to further their career. The top three performers from this Showcase ( the 2nd of 3 ) will be awarded cash prizes, and the top three showcase performers and the "Greatest Potential" performer will be eligible to perform in the grand finale event. Music On & Up created the Young Performers Club as a centralized resource and networking organization for young performers offering performance opportunities to young performers and provide assistance in career marketing activities. Their mission is to bring performers together, provide them resources which will enhance their careers and branding, and be a resource for booking organizations. With competitions across the US, this Showcase at the Hard Rock Cafe of Boston will feature young artists from throughout the Northeast.

Isbell is just one of fourteen young performers that will be giving their all, setting the stage for what is bound to be an afternoon filled with talent. Show starts at 4:30 pm and is open to the public.
