Scrapbook Wedding Signatures

Wedding Envelopes

It used to be that, every wedding, although different, were an awful lot alike. That is, the bride wore white, there were flowers everywhere, the flower girl carried a basket, and the ring bearer came down the aisle with a pillow. Nowadays, people go to great lengths to ensure that their wedding will be unlike anyone else's. Sure, there is still a lot of tradition involved; the bride will probably still wear white, her father will give her away, and there will definitely be lots of flowers. But, some brides-to-be now look for alternatives to the traditional ring pillow, flower girl basket and table décor.

If you're interested in a new take on the old guest signature book you have lots of other options. Some couples now have guests sign plates which can be hung on the wall of their new home. Or, some people have a puzzle made and each guest signs one of the puzzle pieces. Here's another idea: purchase a scrapbook and make it the guest signature book. Don't have people simply sign their names on the pages; make it a little more special than that.

If you're on a tight budget you can check your local dollar-theme store for a suitable scrapbook. If money is no concern there are zillions of places online which offer all sorts of unique scrapbooks. For the cheaper scrapbook, look for ways to embellish it, such as using stencils and a gold paint marker to create a monogram on the front.

A scrapbook - or even a photo album with paper pages - works great to create an unusual guest signature book. Look for tiny envelopes, found in the scrapbook section of a craft store, and use them to hold the signatures. Turn the fronts of the envelopes face-down and tape or glue them to the scrapbook pages. The envelopes can be all one color, and all one size, or you can create pages with different colors and sizes of envelopes. If you use different sizes and colors you can eliminate confusion by making sure that you provide papers which match the sizes of the envelopes and that they are color coordinated. For example, only the pink papers fit in the pink envelopes; only the yellow papers fit in the yellow envelopes.

At the wedding reception simply lay the scrapbook on a table along with a pen. Place small cardstock or scrapbook paper pieces on the table and ask guests to not only sign but to feel free to write what they want on the papers. Ask the guests to slide their cards into the envelopes when they're finished.

The wedding guest signature book is one you'll cherish forever. Get it out on anniversaries and browse through it. It's nice to read all the well-wishes and blessings bestowed upon you by the guests who attended.

  • Use a scrapbook to make your wedding guest signature book.
  • Glue or tape tiny envelopes to the pages of a scrapbook and set it on the signature table.
  • Provide small pieces of cardstock for the guests to sign then put them in the envelopes.
After the book is full you might want to write the name of each guest on the envelopes.
