Scrapbooking - Where Do I Start?

You Don't Have to Be "Behind"

Jessica Quigg
For a long time I wanted to scrapbook but I was so overwhelmed, that I never got started. There was an immediate sense of panic that soared through me when I would realize how "behind" I was. My son was already 8, by daughter 2! How in the world would I ever catch up? I would start with a page or two and realize how long it took and stop. I just couldn't imagine how on earth anyone could get it all done.

I wish I could say, the answer came to me quickly, but alas... it did not. In fact, that fear I described kept me from doing one the of the things I enjoy most for over 2 years! I don't know exactly what inspired the change of thought, but one day, out of the blue, I had an epiphany if you will. A little light came on and it all made sense. I didn't have to work backwards! The reality is, this is when I was choosing to start scrapbooking, not 9 years ago. I would start from right here, right now, and work forward. Simple as that.

A burden was lifted, and nearly immediatly all the inspiration came back! Anyone who knows me, can confirm, I take a ridiculous amount of pictures. As always, I had some new ones still waiting to be printed, and began there. I carefully selected 6 of my favorite photos from the group and had a duplicate copy made. I came home and pulled out some of the supplies I had accumulated during my years of grueling starts and stops, and away I went. I have never turned back and now it is a craft that I have truly come to love and cherish.
