Los Angeles, California, January 27, 2008 - The Screen Actors Guild Awards, aka the SAG Awards were handed out tonight. The Screen Actors Guild Awards are awards from actors to actors. The Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony was lucky enough to receive a waiver from the Writers Guild of America, the WGA. The ceremony was broadcast on TNT and TBS.

The Screen Actors Guild is the "nation's largest labor union representing actors." (SAG.com)

The Screen Actors Guild Award winners in the Theatrical Motion Pictures categories are as follows:

Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture

*The Screen Actors Guild Award winner is No Country for Old Men.*

It's no surprise that No Country for Old Men won the Screen Actors Guild Award. This movie should also do well at the Oscars, although it has some stiff competition from There Will Be Blood.

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role

Screen Actors Guild Award winner is Julie Christie as Fiona in Away From Her.

Julie Christie was expected to win this Screen Actors Guild Award. She will probably walk away with the Oscar as well.

Daniel Day-Lewis has also been nominated for an Oscar for this role. He previously won an Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for My Left Foot. Daniel Day-Lewis has been celebrated with many other nominations and awards for his acting skills.

    I was hoping to see Ellen Page take it for Juno, but now that she has lost the Globes and the SAG awards, I think it's a hopeless cause to hope for her to win the Oscar. Great article!
