Screen Actors Guild Awards 2010

Laura Leiva
In a night of very few surprises, the 16th Screen Actors Guild Awards kicked off Saturday night at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium.

Presenters such as Alec Baldwin, George Clooney, and Felicity Huffman were on hand to pass out the awards. The SAG award are one of the shortest shows of its kind, being presented by the actors themselves to those in television and motion pictures. Nominated in categories as an ensemble or individual in television drama or comedy series, as well as part of a cast or an individual in a motion picture, many of this year's winners have come fresh off of a win at the Golden Globes, held January 17.

Mo'Nique, whose portrayal of Mary Lee Johnston in Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire has caught the attention of many, took home the SAG award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role. Jeff Bridges and Sandra Bullock both took home top honors of the night, Outstanding Performance by a Male and Female Actor in a Leading Role.

As for television, Michael C. Hall took home Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series, and Julianna Margulies won for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series. Funny lady Tina Fey, along with fellow costar Alec Baldwin, won for their performances on the hit show, 30 Rock, for Outstanding Performance by a Male and Female Actor in a Comedy Series.
