Will Wright
While North Carolina boasts a large number of writing groups for poetry, fiction and non-fiction writers, for screenwriters looking to network with fellow filmmakers and screenwriters, or for those simply looking to find a North Carolina based writing group dedicated to the specific art of writing screenplays, there are fewer options.

Fortunately there are a few screenwriting groups spread across the state of North Carolina for writers interested in pursuing screenwriting.

Excellent. All you need to do now is move to Hawaii and start a screenwriter's support group there (for me!). Also enjoyed your article on free screenwriting templates and software. Proves it doesn't have to cost a lot (not a penny, actually) to start writing screenplays.

Whether with writing screenplays, plays, novel, poems or songs - groups to talk about ideas and throw things around with are great.... but there must be trust. More than one good idea has been stolen by a 'friend' in a group.

My husband and I are screenwriting partners, and I TOTALLY agree that you always need a reader and feedback! Groups can be SUPER helpful!
