Fred Phelps is the well-known leader of the hate-based Westboro "Baptist" Church in Kansas. But I am of the opinion that Fred Phelps and his followers are not believers. Not true believers. Scripture in James says that the demons believe and tremble.
I am of the opinion that Mr. Phelps knows this and wants to ensure that sinners stay sinners. He has a desire for people to stay in their sins, he wants, hopes and desires these people to go to hell. He wants this because that is where he is from. It's one thing to declare that something like homosexuality is sin, it's quite another to to condemn them to hell without even wanting them to repent. Fred Phelps does not want people to repent. Fred Phelps wants the sinner to continue living in their sins because, in my opinion, he is a demon from hell. He trembles at the word of God and makes sure that other sinners tremble at him. Fred Phelps hates the fact that Jesus loves you. But scripture says that it will be more tolerable for Sodom than for this generation of which Fred Phelps is a part of. Following are just some of the Holy Scriptures that Fred Phelps hates.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved." John 3:16-17. Context: John 3:9ff
Jesus came to save the world, satan and Fred Phelps came to condemn the world.
"But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Rom. 5:8
"But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes." 1st John 2:11
"But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendeth his rain on the just and the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same?" Matt. 5:44-47, context Matt: 5:1-7:29 (The sermon on the mount)
Now Fred Phelps worshipers (those that worship Fred Phelps) are threatening to protest the funeral of Steve Jobs. These cult members also protest other churches, including Baptist Churches that really believe the Holy Scripture.
The So called Westboro Baptist Church either wants to get attention to themselves or wants you to go to hell. It is why they do things the way do. They are a dangerous cult, they are not likely dangerous to your physical body, but they are very dangerous to your soul. Jesus loves you, He does not hate you, He has a desire for you to be saved. Please accept Jesus Christ into your heart today as your personal Lord and personal Saviour. Ask Him into your heart today.

Post a CommentCS Lewis once said, "So-called 'Christians' not Jesus Christ, are what give Christianity the bad name." Phelps is just one example of this. cheers
