Scriptures Warns Us to Be Watchful, Be on Guard and Be Alert!

Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. (1 Tim 4:16)

Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, (1 Tim 6:20)

Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you -- guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us. (2 Tim 1:14)

Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage -- with great patience and careful instruction. (2 Tim 4:2)

You too should be on your guard against him, because he strongly opposed our message. (2 Tim 4:15)

Be careful not to do your "acts of righteousness" before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. (Mat 6:1)

Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. (Mat 7:15)

Be on your guard against men; they will hand you over to the local councils and flog you in their synagogues." (Mat 10:17)

"Be careful," Jesus said to them. "Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees." (Mat 16:6)

Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak. (Mat 26:41)

Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." (Luke 12:15)

So watch yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. (Luke 17:3)

He replied: "Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am he,' and, 'The time is near.' Do not follow them." (Luke 21:8)

Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. (Luke 21:34)

Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man. (Luke 21:36)

Be very careful, then, how you live -- not as unwise but as wise," (Eph 5:15)

Watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators of the flesh. (Phil 3:2)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:6,7)

We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. (Heb 2:1)

Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. (Heb 4:1)

Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you. (Heb 13:17)

Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position. (2 Pet 3:17)

Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. (2 John 1:8)

Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. (Acts 20:28)

So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears. (Acts 20:31)

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. (Rom 12:17)

I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. (Rom 16:17)

By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. (1 Cor 3:10)

Be careful, however, that the exercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak. (1 Cor 8:9)

So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! (1 Cor 10:12)

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. (1 Cor 16:13)

If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. (Gal 5:15)
