Pelagia Scuba: Pacific Northwest Invertebrate Identification Dive, Call (206)618-2538 for more information and to register.
Once you get comfortable and certified at scuba diving, you'll be ready to take interesting survey classes like this one. Survey classes are one of the greatest benefits of knowing how to scuba dive. They are incredibly interesting, give you knowledge and access to an underwater world, and help contribute data to our base of knowledge of marine life - you will be a scientist, in a sense. This course seeks to help you identify at least 50 of the most common Pacific Northwest invertebrates, and how they are distinguished from one another. By the end, you will know that leather stars smell garlicky, know that sunflower stars have 10,000 feet, and why an octopus is a mollusk. Diving is one of those great combinations where information and learning actually combine with having fun. Classes like this one will make you happy that you have learned to dive.
