Sea Gull
Wind beneath your wings
flying gracefully
into the salty air,
your spirit knows
the wind will just be there,
never hesitating
as you glide without a care!
At peace, you frolic happily
across the sandy beach!
The sun sets slowly
like a benediction
speaking of God's peace.
Your little footprints
like a cryptic rune
spread across the strand.
Could I decipher it,
would I not see
written in the sand
your life is complete and full,
at one with the infinite
and trusting God to guide you!
Ah! That I had your simple faith,
flying toward the horizon,
disappearing into the blue!
