Searching For You

Janice Meyer
I follow moonlight
reaching for first dawn.
I search beyond each star
hoping summer's hush will
yield a transport trace -

Clouds hover over the mountain,
cling there. Morning stretches
to the edge of forever, I wait.
Should I doubt your love,
hot - cold
hopscotching through time?

As moon creeps above the edge of earth,
again I will follow its beams,
broken by clouds,
probing Heaven for your face.
