Searching for the Rare Rockman/Mega Man Model Kits from Bandai

Illusive Falcon Armor Considered the Rarest Kit

The Rockman model kits that were manufactured by Bandai over a decade ago have recently become a trend again among Mega man fans. For those people who are not familiar with the Mega man video game franchise, Rockman is actually the Japanese name for the beloved blue bomber. Bandai is a very well known toy company among Japanese toy collectors because they are also responsible for releasing the popular Gundam model kits. Unfortunately, Rockman model kits are extremely tough to find in local hobby shops because they went out of production around the year 2003. These model kits were once sold at Wal-Mart stores for only five dollars apiece. Nowadays you couldn't even find them for cheap prices at www.eBay.com. At one point, eBay was once filled with many different lines of these kits from seven to fifteen dollars apiece. Now you have sellers who list these Rockman kits for absurd amounts of money, but that does not mean they are impossible to find at reasonable prices.

You can start looking for these kits at anime shops because they tend to carry vintage Japanese toys. If you live in a big city such as Los Angeles or Seattle, there is a 100% chance you will find an anime shop. I once purchased three different Rockman model kits that contained the characters Zero, Tengu Man, and Rush at an anime shop not too long ago. Another place to find these model kits would be at your closest Big Lots store. Big Lots stores typically sell vintage toys from the 1990s believe it or not and some of these stores actually sell Mega Man figures from the Jazwares line. Jazwares is the same company that is responsible for releasing Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat action figures. Last but not least, toys stores located in Chinatowns are possibly your best bet in finding these rare model kits. Chinatown toy stores always carry import toys.

The rarest Rockman model kits would have to be both the Falcon Armor Rockman and Fourth Armor Rockman. These kits are from the Mega Man X franchise that debuted back in 1993 for Super Nintendo Entertainment System. I have seen each kit sell for over two hundred dollars on eBay. No other kit has come close to this price on an eBay auction. If you are a beginner in Rockman model kit collecting, I recommend on purchasing the regular version of Rockman which is blue.
