Sears Starts Headhunt for Black Friday Ad Leak

BlackFriday.org and BlackFriday.info Both Have the Sears Black Friday Ad

L. Vincent Poupard
Both BlackFriday.info and BlackFriday.org have posted the Sears Black Friday ad on their Web sites. Word from some of my sources in the headquarters at Sears are telling me that there is a lot of tension over this issue.

Every year, BlackFriday.info and BlackFriday.org fight to try to get the Black Friday ads for as many major retailers as possible. You can read more about them here.

According to my sources in the upper levels of Sears, a plan went into place last year to try to smoke out who it was the leaked last year's Sears Black Friday ad. Plans and procedures were put into place at the time to make sure that this year's Sears Black Friday ad would not make it to either BlackFriday.info or BlackFriday.org.

My sources are telling me that the heads of the marketing department are really steamed right now since not only was the Sears Black Friday ad leaked to BlackFriday.info and BlackFriday.org, but it was the first Black Friday ad this year from any of the major nation-wide retailers to make it up on the site.

Currently, there is not any word from my sources as to what management is going to do about the fact that BlackFriday.info and BlackFriday.org posted the Sears Black Friday ad yesterday. One of my sources stated that there have been upper-level meetings about this issue, and one of the rumors is that a reward is going to be offered for smoking out who the person was who leaked the Sears Black Friday ad.

I have been a part of an investigation as to who might have leaked out a Black Friday ad to BlackFriday.info and BlackFriday.org. There are too many people that are able to touch the ads before they get into the hands of customers. The marketing department, shipping clerks, mail clerks, printers, managers, and others all have access to Black Friday ads well before the end of November. Any of these, or other links, could have linked the Sears Black Friday ad to BlackFriday.info or BlackFriday.org.

Whatever the results are of an investigation at Sears (if there even will be one) as to who leaked the Sears Black Friday ad to BlackFriday.info and BlackFriday.org, one thing is certain. It is certain that chances are good that these websites will get next year's, Sears Black Friday ad well before we are meant to.

Good Shopping wishes to all.
