Season 15's Two-Time Bachelor, Brad Womack, Makes His Choice: Happily Ever After?

Karen LoBello
The wait is over for "Bachelor" fans. It only took three months for Brad Womack to meet, profess his love and propose to Emily Maynard. Emily, a 24 year old mother, accepted his proposal-for now, at least. We all know how these "Bachelor romances" usually end.

Can We Take This Seriously?

The whole premise of the show is a bit bizarre. Twenty-five women dating one man? C'mon. Personally, I have a hard time believing that any guy who is making statements one day such as, "Today I have to decide between two incredible women" is ready to propose to one of them the next day. He gets together with his family and they help him decide. Strange. But it's the reality TV drama that keeps fans coming back for more.

The Future Bride and Groom

Emily is a hospital event planner from West Virginia. Although she's only 24, she seems to have an older spirit. Brad described her early on as having "an extreme air of class and sophistication." She has a daughter, Ricki. Ricki's father was killed in a plane crash before Emily even knew she was pregnant. Brad-who ruffled "Bachelor" fans' feathers in 2007 when he turned down both potential finalists-has bought and sold three companies, building one from the ground up. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, the 38-year old currently resides in Austin, Texas.

The Other Woman

Chantal O'Brien, 28, is from the Seattle area. She gained notoriety quickly on the show with the famous slap she laid on Brad at their first meeting. It was intended to be for all women who were upset with him in his previous Bachelor go-around. Chantal was divorced in 2007, but she seemed anxious to jump right back in. Chantal professed her "love" to Brad very quickly....a little too quickly perhaps.

The Final Rose Ceremony

In the beautiful setting of South Africa, Brad waited as Chantal, hoping to receive a marriage proposal, took the long walk up toward him. It was not to be. Of course, in true "Bachelor" fashion, he began with flowering compliments, no doubt making her think she was the one. Then she heard, "But...I have stronger feelings for someone else." Chantal sobbed uncontrollably, and anyone watching who didn't feel at least a tinge of pity for her doesn't have a heart. Emily walked away with a fiancé and a beautiful ring.

After the Final Rose

Chantal joined Chris Harrison on stage, and she was still very emotional. That was a little surprising, given the fact that she says she's found Mr. Right. Brad is obviously in love, but he and Emily have not been living a fairy tale. As Brad said, "What couple does?" Despite it, he says he'd marry Emily today. What does Emily say? She wants to wait. Even though the audience gasped in surprise, I'd say getting to know one another better is a smart move. Three "Bachelor/Bachelorette" couples who are still together-Ali and Roberto, Jason and Molly, and Trista and Ryan-joined Chris Harrison and the future Mr. and Mrs. Womack to offer their advice. Will this couple stay together? They say they will. Time will tell.

I so loved the days of regular tv sitcoms and shows. The reality show thing is a little overrated to me. But people seem to love them.

I think he took too much of his family's opinion into consideration in my opinion when making his decision. He seemed truly happy and excited to be around Chantal. Oh well...
