Season 3 Premiere Recap of 'Eureka'

Karen Barnes

Fargo who took over running Global Dynamics last season after Jo, Allison, Jack, Henry, and he go back in time when the idea of Eureka occurred. As far as Fargo's new position, nothing much else about him has changed.

Fargo is still the quirky nerd who finds ways unintentionally to wreak havoc in Eureka. Jack, Allison, Jo and Henry always have to find ways to fix Fargo's misfortunes.

In the season premiere, Fargo gets Zane to build him a damper with faster than light drive. Sarah, Jack's talking house, calls off her wedding to Andy, Jack's AI deputy.

After the wedding is called off, Fargo goes back to GD to play with his Merucury capsule while waiting for Zane to finish the BCL.

What Fargo doesn't know is Zane stole the one he claimed to build from the BCL which is a big electromagnetic looking catcher's mitt to catch objects such as the capsule they inadvertently launched into space.

The capsule Fargo wanted the FTL for was one that had returned to Earth before the group went back in time. Henry and Fargo had stripped all the control systems out of the capsule because of the information it contained from its time in space.

When Fargo asked Zane for the device, Zane locks them in the capsule because he wanted to pry information out of him about Jo and his relationship before the time travel experience.

When the rocket and capsule ignites, Zane tells Fargo he went ahead and installed it. Fargo freaks.

Once they have lift off, the town of Eureka and those working at Global Dynamics go on red alert. This is because of the unauthorized liftoff Zane and Fargo created.

Allison takes back command of Global Dynamics to figure out how to bring the craft down. Henry, a coworker, and Allison use the Command Triad to send missiles to shoot down Fargo's new toy.

When Jack realizes Zane and Fargo are in the capsule, he self destructs the missiles which pisses Allison off. Jack is offended because Allison didn't trust his gut feeling. When Allison tells him Zane and Fargo are on a collision course with the International Space Station, he realizes the error of his ways.

In a mad dash to figure out how to warn the ISS, Allison has a message sent to the ISS telling them to embrace for impact. When Fargo realizes they are on a collision course too, he vents their oxygen to turn the capsule since they don't have attitude controls.

Zane freaks out because of the oxygen being used for maneuvering. They get into a school yard pissing match and Zane looses his lunch.

In short order, Fargo manages to get a message back to GD telling them what Zane did. By the time Jack tried to get ahold of Henry it was too late. The catcher's mitt shorted out all of Eureka's electrical sources except one; Andy, Jacks new deputy.

When Jo finds Andy in the lab area underground while looking for a generator, she drags him back above ground. Andy is used to power the catcher's mitt to catch the capsule so it won't crash and kill the boys.

Because of his launching the capsule into space, Fargo is taken to D.C. to face the appropriations committee. Sarah and Andy decide to keep seeing each other even after the wedding has been called off.
