Season Premiere Grey's Anatomy Predictions Revisited

The Right, the Wrong, and the Very Very Ugly

Leveling Truth
After watching the Season Premiere of Grey's Anatomy, I was shouting at the television, "Hey Derek, I'll be your new girl at the bar! I most certainly need a drink, so I'm paying!"

The hype for the totally unrealistic and over-the-top Season Premiere of Grey's was correct about one important thing- this season really did start off with some interesting changes.

It also began, as I accurately predicted, with Cristina's eyebrows "magically" reappearing. After a quick seventeen-day holiday, her eyebrows appear as perfect as ever. Not that I would ever shave my eyebrows off, but it did make me wonder how long it would take for them to grow back? So, of course I found out.

Wikipedia and other online sources estimate that eyebrow hairs, on average, can take between 4 and 7 months to complete a growth cycle. In any case, the highly complicated process would definitely seem to take longer than a seventeen-day honeymoon with Meredith Grey. I wonder if ABC happened across this guy on You Tube and thought, now that's a twisted idea for Cristinia's wedding!

As if Cristina's eyebrows weren't enough to get upset about, then oh deer, Izzy and her ridiculous Bambi rescue surely was!

Granted, several years ago, I remember a rather large buck waltzed into a local grocery store. True story! The automatic sliding doors just opened right up for Bambi's father. Thanks to Thumper and a few other stock boys the buck was escorted out, but not before he had helped himself to a display of spaghetti sauce and snack chips. So, to me, a deer at Seattle Grace isn't but so far-fetched.

If it can happen at a grocery store, why can it not happen at a hospital? One deer was hungry. One deer was sick. I am a bit more understanding of it happening here in a small rural area. Yet at Seattle Grace? Not really.

Regardless, I have to side with the boy's father. In these here parts where I come from, we eat Bambi! Though I've known more than a few roadside delicacies to disappear hot off the grill, so to speak, for the most part, we avoid roadkill Bambi, but not for the reasons you might think. If a vehicle has plowed Bambi over then the meat actually gets badly bruised. Even if it's fresh meat, it still looks funny on the inside. It's similar to buying meat at the grocery store. If it looks discolored, it might not hurt you, but why take any chances?

Unless, of course, your aim is bad but your stomach is empty. In that case, I don't think bruised Bambi would be more dangerous to consume than things like scissors, loose change, or whatever else you can find to shove in your mouth. It's a good thing Miranda is so calm under pressure when Callie isn't paying attention to her patients.

In regards to some of my previous predictions, I think a lot of them still have potential. Even if you disagree, I don't think any of them are much worse than Izzy shock paddling the doe. I would like to know how Seattle Grace is going to handle Izzy's veterinary assistance. Last I checked, the Good Samaritan law didn't apply to deer whether it was hurt or not.

I'm still waiting to see about the water and the babies predictions. I could still be right. Also, since Richard turned down his drink I think I'll have his as well. Come on, Alex and Cristina nursing broken hearts together? That's just...wrong!!

If I were Alex, I would have taken that $2.57 bag of loose change and done two things. First, found a payphone and called Ava. Second, bought a glass of whatever the cheapest hardest hitting stuff Joe had that would make me forget.

Maybe then I would feel better until next Thursday night.

I've never really watched Grey's Anatomy (but I have friends who are obsessed with it!) But seeing Patrick Dempsey in Enchanted has made me want to start watching. Lol!

I can't wait to see what this season has in store. I was wondering how they were going to phase out Dr. Burke. I guess him resigning and leaving works the best. I hope Derek doesn't make a move on Meredith's sister.
