Seasonal Death

Tonya Suther
Solemn winter spread
Ashen dirt smothered a casket
Air cold and lifeless
Cracked pine fractured...split
Like branches frail...frozen
Frigid handles crystalled bronze
Gloom and despair relented in season
Mourners weep for light too passed
Black clouds reigned and lingered
Be not afraid of the corpsed
Too dead to buried
Deep beneath barren sky
