I have a "Music Box" CD playing Christmas Music in the background. It is my Christmas tradition when I write a special Christmas note of a Christmas story...kinda puts me in the spirit. The CD is a Christmas tradition in itself. We bought it @ Bonner's on our last trip to Frankenmuth, Michigan.
I have visions of my Mom ironing wrapping paper to re-use it. I guess today we'd call it recycling. I have memories of Grandma Klausz' dining room table full of homemade noodles. I see Aunt Theresa walking through then door with shirt boxes full of German cookies to share. I see little people with the wonder of Santa in their eyes... One curly top little gal told me "if you really want something special don't tell Santa,,, Tell Grandma, she'll make it happen!"
This Christmas we celebrate our blessings with a special fervor. God has challenged me with End Stage Renal Failure. With the blessing of Fremont Dialysis Center we can live a long time and not have a long drive for my treatment three days per week. Since this challenge we have both quit asking "What's Next?"
The Queen Goddess continues to work with the Taiho Corporation of America. It's a Jap auto parts company. The checks don't bounce and they haven't borrowed any money from Obama. Bonnie's music is still the emotional barometer of out home. The more she plays her baby grand the better we both feel...when she takes the guitar from it's case I know it's an extra special day!
Bonnie was blessed this year in finding her lost brother, LTCOL James Conley. They had been separated for almost 60 years. I don't think he has missed a day calling since. He is a Conley just like Bonnie. Stubborn, generous to a fault, caring beyond the norm, and most of all full of love to share. He too is blessed with a beautiful wife to make his life extra special.
Our gang of grandchildren has expanded again this year. Delayna and Rob have taken a special little one into their home. Her name is Anara (sp?). She is as cute as a button, eighteen months old and in need of lots of love. Bubba and Bonnie's Army of grandchildren now stands @ Twelve total. We don't get to see them often enough but cherish those special moments.
A big Thank You to all you folks that made 2009 extra special for us. Your e-mails, phone calls, cards and prayers helped us over the tough spots and joined in our celebration of happiness. We send you from our home to your's a Very Merry Christmas filled with love and beautiful thoughts. May 2010 bring you a Tidal Wave of love, happiness, and bright futures.

Post a CommentI'm late in commenting, as usual, Alban, but your positive attitude is one of the things I admire most in you. I hope that you'll have many more wonderful years, and that 2010 will be one of them. Even when I'm not commenting, you're in my prayers, because so often you've been the one whose words have lifted me up and made me look at my own blessings instead of the little things going wrong around me, and realize that those blessings (including you) far outweigh the challenges I face. I love you, dear friend.
So sorry about your health problems, Alban. I'm praying that you will feel better and have a wonderful year in 2010. What a wonderful gift your wife received in finding her brother. Best wishes for the best Christmas ever and a Happy, Happy New Year.
All the best to you and your wonderful family, Alban, and may your Christmas be filled with love and peace.
