1. Bally Fitness: They currently have a $18.99 a month until the end of July 2009. No long term contract and since Bally Fitness is synonymous, since they also have their own gym equipments in stores with the Bally name on the products. You can also get a free week of guest pass to try them out if not a current member.
2. Gold's Gym: This one is cheaper at $9.99 a month and until the end of July 2009. They have a three free coupons that you can use where first one is to you, second one is either to you or your friend and the third one was meant for one of your friends. No long term contract there as well.
3. All Star Fitness: They have three different locations for the gym in Seattle, one in Tacoma, WA and the fifth one in Portland, OR. They didn't list on the site how much they charge per month as well as whether there is a long term contract or not.
4. 24 Hour Fitness: Just like Bally Fitness, they also have a free week trial for non members to try. They have a initiation fee of $9.99 plus first and last month's due plus pay in between $24.99-$74.99 a month. This company is pretty famous due to the show called "The Biggest Loser" where Jillian Michaels is well known as a fitness model and personal trainer. Kim Lyons used to be on the show but no longer on it. 24 Hour Fitness also have gym equipments that anybody can buy at some certain stores.
5. PRO Sports Club: They have them in three different locations. Plus there is the referral system where you can earn up to $300. In Seattle, it's $75 and in Bellevue it's $300 plus 50% off for your friend's initiation fee. Another location is located on Willow Road in Redmond, WA.
All of these gyms offer personal training sessions and some have other kinds of sessions compare to the others. The personal training sessions are separate from your monthly fee and places like 24 Hour Fitness have different payment plans. Before you join any gyms, see what each of them offer and if you can picture yourself going there at least 2-3 times or more a week. Great customer service with clean facilities, a locker to store your stuff while there and some of these have childcare area if you have any kids should be perfect. Also read what other people say about the gyms in your local area. You can sometimes get a feel on what you want more after reading what others say. The ones being quoted in a magazine mean that they are great but before deciding with that certain one, always do your research and decide after you know what you want.
These are the tips and places I can think of and have fun.
