Seattle Seahawks 2009 NFL Schedule and Predictions

Jesse Podoll
The Seattle Seahawks look to rebound after a disappointing 2008 campaign. The team already has a 100% different outlook from the top down. New coach, new scheme, new players in key positions - it should be a turn-around season in Seattle.

Pre-Season The Seahawks face their old AFC West rivals this pre-season.

August 15th, 7:00 PM PT @ San Diego Chargers

August 22nd, 7:30 PM PT VS Denver Broncos

August 29th, 5:00 PM PT @ Kansas City Chiefs

September 3rd, 7:00 PM PT VS Oakland Raiders

Regular Season

Week 1: Sunday, September 13th 1:15 PM PT VS St. Louis Rams
The Seahawks start off the season at home for the first time in 3 years - and they should have a decent time in getting the victory over the division rival St. Louis Rams.
Record: 1-0

Week 2: Sunday, September 20th 1:05 PM PT @ San Francisco 49ers
Second straight division rival. Second straight victory for the Seahawks.
Record: 2-0

Week 3:Sunday,September 27th 1:05 PM PT VS Chicago Bears
The Bears come in with a new QB, but an aging defense. With the home crowd, the Seahawks should pull out a win.
Record: 3-0

Week 4: Sunday, October 4th 10:00 AM PT @ Indianapolis Colts
The Seahawks usually don't travel east well... and the Colts are tough to beat at home.
Record: 3-1

Week 5: Sunday, October 11th 1:15 PM PT VS Jacksonville Jaguars
Seahawks always seem to give a game away at home that they should win. I think this is that game.
Record: 3-2

Week 6: Sunday, October 18th 1:15 PM PT VS Arizona Cardinals
If Boldin is still a Cardinal and the Seahawks haven't added a taller corner - trouble at home for the Hawks.
Record: 3-3

Week 7: BYE
After opening 3-0 and then going on a 3 game losing streak - this bye week comes at a great time for the team to regroup.

Week 8: Sunday, November 1st 10:00 AM PT @ Dallas Cowboys
Coming off a bye week the Seahawks might have trouble coming out strong on the road.
Record: 3-4

Week 9: Sunday, November 8th 1:05 PM PT VS Detroit Lions
Needing to get back on track the Seahawks come out and take advantage of the weaker opponent to get back to .500.
Record: 4-4

Week 10: Sunday, November 15th 1:15 PM PT @ Arizona Cardinals
Assuming the machup's are the same as in Week 6, this is more trouble again for Seattle.
Record: 4-5

Week 11: Sunday, November 22nd 10:00 AM PT @ Minnesota Vikings
Travelling and playing in domes seem to hurt the Seahawks. Of course, facing Adrian Peterson doesn't help.
Record: 4-6

Week 12: Sunday, November 29th 10:00 AM PT @ St. Louis Rams
The schedule seems to favor the Seahawks getting back on track after short losing skids.
Record: 5-6

Week 13: Sunday, December 6th 1:15 PM PT VS San Francisco 49ers
As earlier in the season, the Seahawks take advantage of playing their NFC West rivals in back-to-back weeks.
Record: 6-6

Week 14: Sunday, December 13th 10:00 AM PT @ Houston Texans
Just as they seem to get back on track. they hit the stumbling blocks again as I think the injury bug might be starting to effect some of the veterans.
Record: 6-7

Week 15: Sunday, December 20th 1:15 PM PT VS Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Nothing like Qwest Field in December against a warm weather team to get the team back on track.
Record: 7-7

Week 16: Sunday, December 27th 10:00 AM PT @ Green Bay Packers
I like the Seahawks to pull an upset here and keep the playoff hopes alive.
Record: 8-7

Week 17: Sunday, January 3rd 1:15 PM PT VS Tennessee Titans
On the brink of a playoff berth - or even a division championship - the Qwest Field crowd shows the meaning of home field advantage.
Record: 9-7

Your kicker lives 20 miles from me. I will do a egg toss drive by on his house before they play my Chiefs!
