Sebastian Inlet State Park

Sebastian Inlet State Park is home to some of Florida's best outdoor recreational opportunities. It boasts great surfing and hosts yearly events. It also has some of Florida's premier fishing grounds, located directly off of the jetty through the sound at Sebastian Inlet. Access to the Atlantic Ocean is available and a full facility campground lets you spend the night in an RV or tent. This family friendly state park is the perfect place for parents and kids alike.

It's hard to say what the most popular parts of the park are. Between the miles of gorgeous white sandy beaches, the great fishing off the jetties, the treasure and shipwreck museums-and all the other awesome adventures at Sebastian Inlet State Park, each visitor at the park is sure to leave happy.

One of my favorite outdoor adventures at Sebastian Inlet State Park is the beach. These white sandy beaches are more than just inviting for sunbathers; they offer some of the best surfing around. The wave action at the beach attracts surfers year round and competitions are held here each year in the summer.

But you don't have to be a surfer to enjoy the beach. Beachcombers and metal detector enthusiasts are often seen combing the beach for treasures. That's right; a fleet of Spanish treasure ships wrecked off the coast of Sebastian inlet during a hurricane and treasure has been washing ashore for decades. One man once found a gold box filled with ruby and emerald rings.

Even if you don't find any treasure, you can still see it when you visit Sebastian Inlet State Park. The Mclarty Treasure Museum is home to some of the finest displays of Spanish treasures in the world. It also tells the tale of the fleet or treasure ships that wrecked just off the coast in 1715.

Bring your motor boat and RV for the ultimate in outdoor adventure. Access to a full facility campground allows visitors to hook up RV's up to 40 feet in length. Each site comes complete with electricity, water a picnic table and grill. This park has great showers facilities, a dump station and even Wi-Fi hotspots near the marina.

A 24 hour boat launch is open next to the marina for access to the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. Four separate ramps ensure you'll have a quick launch at this heavily used access to the ocean.
