Sebastian's Suedeluxe Reconstructor Cocktail

Have you ever tried a shampoo that completely dried out your hair? I mean dry to the point of losing the lustre your hair normally has?

I don't dye my hair, but do curl it often with a ceramic curling iron. As you might know, this will leave your hair dry and can massively damage your ends. I've been using Amplify, a volumizing shampoo and conditioner by Matrix, which I purchased from a professional salon.

After using Amplify's shampoo and conditioner for a little less than a month, I can confidently say - I don't recommend going with these items. They deliver zero moisture to your hair. The volumizing effect it contributed to my hair was minimal too. It ultimately did more harm than good.

To get my hair back on the road to recovery, I looked into salon brand deep conditioners. I've had success with Joico's KPAK in the past. It immediately penetrates the hair follicle, so much that the outside of the hair shaft is still left a little bit brittle.

"KPAK delivers proteint to the hair shaft. Too much can in fact leave your hair brittle, potentially causing breakage," Veronica of Mia's Salon in Chico said during a recent salon visit.

In addition to the KPAK treatment I've included a second layer of conditioner by Sebastian called Suedeluxe Reconstructor. This is an amazing conditioner that gives immediate results. After just the first application, my hair had an instant smoothed out texture.

My fine hair was dull and lifeless. However, after a few applications of this treatment my hair looked shiny without being weighed down after styling. With each additional application, the thickening effect of this five minute at-home conditioning cocktail has brought life and body back to my tresses.

Experts say that a once weekly deep conditioning treatment is essential for healthy hair. I agree, however, recommend only on an as need basis during the warmer months. Your hair thrives with its own oils. So avoid excessive washing by limiting washing your hair to every other day.

You'll notice that on your day off of washing your hair will style better and the style will last longer.
