Patriots/Jets O51
I have already made the Ravens over the Dolphins as my bet of the week, but a play in the Patriots/Jets game has made me issue my first ever second NFL bet of the week.
I am surely all over this New England Patriots and New York Jets game this weekend for betting. It just seems too easy.
The Patriots will be looking for some revenge against he Jets for the now infamous spygate tattling. Not only this, but Bill Belicheck has really had it in for Eric Mangini since Mangini left the Patriots to become the head coach of the New York Jets.
As we have already seen, the Patriots have an affinity for running up the score against teams and coaches that they have no real problem with (see Redskins and Joe Gibbs, Buffalo Bills and Dick Jauron) and this time it seems personal.
It is just common knowledge that the Jets will be outmatched this weekend when they play the Patriots. The Pats are looking at perfection while the Jets are looking at anything but and while it might be tempting for anyone to play the New England Patriots this weekend, even if they are 24.5-point favorites, I offer you a better play.
The Patriots and the Jets have an over/under set at 51, and this just seems to low. With a point-spread set at 24.5, the oddsmakers must expect either the Patriots to stop their running up the score ways, or they expect the Jets to be shut out, and neither will happen.
For the Jets to win this game, they will have to put up some points. The Patriots will be able to put up points even if it is their worst performance of the season. If the Jets win, this will easily cover.
For the Jets to even cover the spread the will also have to put up some points, because I see no way that the Patriots put up anything less than 30-35 points at home. If the Jets cover, the over will easily cover.
For the Patriots to cover, they will obviously have to do some scoring. There is no way the Jets will fail to score in this game and against an imperfect New England defense I see them putting up at least 10-20 points. Add to that the Patriots scoring 30-40 points and you have a cover. If the Patriots cover, this game should easily go .
With the pick made it is time for me to remind you that these are merely the best plays on the board as I see them and they are not guaranteed winners, nothing is guaranteed. I hope you have fun with these NFL selections and good luck this weekend. All lines are gathered from BetUs.com and from Wagerline.com and were accurate at the time of this article being written. Keep in mind, line movement may occur.
Remember not to bet more than you can afford to lose and that wagering should be for fun only. If you have a gambling problem I urge you not to place a wager.
