Second Sight

April Fox
on the floor
faded shirt
dead rock star
black is grey
it's hard to tell
whether it began like that
or not.

sun is moon is stars and they are
interchangeable
artificial light
fluorescence suits me
with its pale glow
and indecisive flickering

this is the light of atheists
and i bask in it.

on the floor
words
pen in hand i leave the screen up
keys untouched
this needs my hand
to make it real

unreadable, but you can't
understand it anyway.

i saw this before
i wrote these words
i felt this
ache and you were
falling away and i was
falling away and we were
broken
at the bottom
i woke afraid
alone and reaching
i saw this and it was not
the truth
was not the things i felt you said we knew we
needed this we
needed this we
needed this we
fell and i am curled
fetal
with no place to go
but out.
