Second Tax Rebate Stimulus Check Possible
Pandering Politicians Could Hand-Out Cash
The question many are asking is whether Barack Obama or John McCain would be willing to propose it. A second round of tax rebate stimulus checks would be popular with the voters and probably unpopular with Washington insiders who would rather control the taxpayer's money themselves.
It has been reported that the vast number of taxpayers who received an original rebate stimulus check have already spent the money. By default this means that the same taxpayers would most likely repeat this behavior if given another chance.
Barack Obama may not be in a position to propose more rebate stimulus checks as he is already calling for some tax increases. He does support some tax breaks for the middle and lower income groups and may be able to use that reasoning to support the plan.
John McCain is known to be fiscally conservative even to the extent that he has never brought his own state of Arizona a single Pork Barrel project. It probably would be irresponsible for the government, which is drowning in debt, to give more money back to the taxpayers. John McCain surely knows that. He also knows that voters like to get tax rebate stimulus checks, so maybe he could also find a way to support this plan.
Most likely, a second tax rebate stimulus check plan will only occur if there is a groundswell of support by the public and the media. Then it could become a leading campaign issue. This could result in a mad dash by both candidates to be the first to propose and support the idea.
With the amount of money spent on political advertising it might possibly turn-out that the winning candidate may the one who spends money on the taxpayers instead of television ads. A second tax rebate stimulus check could be just what the voters ordered. Considering how well the plan seemed to work the first time, I fully support a second check.

I know the feelin, I'm a single parent of three kids, i cant work, they say i'm too young to get my disabilty. the only income i have is $71 a month child support. A stimulus check would really help me
I want to know why families on welfare don't get these stimulus checks.

I feel this country is to busy trying to support other countries needs rather then our own. If we would stop fighting other peoples battles and start fighting the one we have here in OUR country we would not be in this situation right now. Our Govt. is quick to send trillions of dollars to other countries to make sure they have food, meds., and housing, but they don't want to help their own people right here in the United States who need the same thing. It makes me sick that our own Govt. doesn't have our backs in this situation. We NEED HELP! What more do you want us to do. I feel what ever the amount of a stimulus check we would get, we would all be grateful for it b/c we ALL need it to survive during these rough times...............
American people are living on a paycheck to paycheck with no saving, making end meat every month. I think our gov't need to think what can we do to solve the problem not talk about the problem, we know there is a major issued here!!! If I was running the gov't I would take a look at people income. People are already in debt with credit and there is no way out for them but higher interest rate which is wrong. Higher rent and house payments. couple and family are living on 30,000 to 60,000 a year which is not enough for today cost of living. Something need to give... I believe God want us all to be treated equal in all things. But greed took over and left us in the way of life as it is today. What can we do to change all that has happen in the last 8 years... What can we do!!!! I believe we should get another rebate check but to the people couple and family that is making under 75,000 a year. Obama I voted for you... Make the change you stated!!!
You say try living on $8000 a month.....Me, my fiance, and our 4 kids live off of $1000 a month or less on most months. And we try and try to get ahead but nothing is possble.
EVERYONE! We all need a push but even if it is given to us. I propose the best thing for Americans' to do for instance even if you received a check for a couple of grand is to find a tin can and burry it in the back yard. If everyone who got a check and not spend it the fed will realize everyone is smarter than they think. You spend it we lose again.
