Secret Clinical Strength Review

For the Woman that Sweats

~Addie~
Do you feel like you sweat more that the average woman? I know I do, sometimes I feel like deodorant just doesn't work for me. I hated going out to the clubs or other places where I knew I would get hot and sweaty because after a hour or two of sweating comes the stinky. There would be times when I would put on two kinds of deodorant, and not because I'm a stinky person but more so because of the fact that I know I sweat, so I am consciously aware of not wanting to smell bad.

Let me give a little insight to something before I go on to review the product. Why we perspire? Sweating is the body's natural way of giving off heat to maintain your core body temperature. Hot weather, exercise, and stressful situations can make you sweat even more. Sometimes when the body's mechanism for cooling itself is overactive, it results in excessive perspiration especially in the underarm area which could be caused by a medical condition called hyperhidrosis.

About a two years ago, the deodorant companies got smart and created a prescription grade antiperspirant, geared for women who perspire more than normal or experience hyperhidrosis. Though I have always seen it on the shelves I have always been hesitant to buy it because of the price. I usually use Secret brand deodorant anyway and their clinical strength usually runs about $11, a big jump from the regular $4 stick. A couple of days ago, while on one of my walmart runs, I noticed in the section where they have the travel sized items , they had travel sized Clinical Strength Secret so I got one.

Secret Clinical Strength Advanced Solid TM. is an antiperspirant designed to provide prescription strength wetness protection to women who have demanding body chemistries. Its formula contains triple-action technology and provides three layers of protection.
1. Clinically proven, prescription strength wetness protection, 2. Odor-fighting capsules that absorb odor all day to keep you smelling clean and fresh and 3. Skin soothing conditioners.

When I opened the box it comes in, there was a booklet of directions. I was going to toss it aside thinking who needs directions for some antiperspirant? but I decided to read over it anyway. The directions stated that I was to apply the Secret Clinical Strength Advanced Solid at bedtime. Why bedtime you ask? Well, that was my question too. A women's core body temperatures vary throughout a 24 hour period, rising during the day and cooling down at night. How you sweat is affected by these temperature variations. At night while the body is at rest, the sweating mechanism slows down as compared to in the day time when your sweating mechanism must speed up to keep you cool. Night time becomes the ideal time for antiperspirant plugs because of the slower sweat rate. The good thing about Secret Clinical Strength is that it is designed to be activated at night to take advantage of the body's natural temperature variations. It will protect you the whole next day even if you bathe or shower the next morning. Pretty Cool!

I have been using the Secret Clinical Strength for 4 days now, and so far it has done exactly what it says it will do. I shower at night and then apply the antiperspirant. It has a nice smell and when I shower the next morning the pleasant scent of it still remains. I then apply a regular deodorant when I get out of the shower in the morning and go about my day. I notice that during the middle and toward the end of the day when I would usually be hot and sweating, I'm not! Woo Hoo! I would recommend this product if you are a woman who sweats a lot it's like gold in a bottle. Now I don't have to worry anymore about having embarrassing sweat stains on my clothes when it's not even hot.
