Secret Santa Gifts Under $10

When you pull the name out of the hat when you play secret Santa at Christmas time, you start to wonder what on earth you are going to buy the person who's name you just drew. You have a hard time trying to figure out the persons likes and dislikes and if you start to ask, then that person might get suspicious and figure out you just drew their name. In the game of secret Santa that is a big no, no!

On top of all that you are having a hard time coming up with money to spread the Christmas cheer around this year. Economy has hit your wallet hard and you need to find a way to come out of this situation with not spending alot of money. I have six secret Santa gifts that will keep your wallet in check.

Breakfast Gift Cards
Gift cards are a given, however we usually just get them from Walmart, or a local store. When you do this, the gift is not unique. You need to find a unique gift card option and only add $10 or less onto the card. I suggest a breakfast gift card at a local restaurant, or maybe even McDonald's. Most people tend to not pick up breakfast because they do not have the time no the money to spend on themselves. This way they can have their breakfast in the morning and not worry about fixing it or paying for it.

Work Voucher
If you are strapped for cash, then this gift is just what the doctor ordered. It may require you to put in a little hard labor, however you will not have to spend any extra money. Buy a couple sheets of construction paper. I think red and green are good because of the Christmas colors. Cut strips of the paper at least 6 inches wide. Try to get at least 4 strips per page. Alternate the color of sheets and staple them together on one side to create a book. Each sheet of paper write down things you are willing to do for that person. For example you can put down, 1 Take Out The Trash, 1 Time of Cleaning Up After Dinner, 2 Hours of Reading While _____ (put your name in the blank) Cooks Dinner. If you are doing this for someone at work then I suggest you can write, 1 Packed Lunch Made By _____ (and insert your name), 1 Mail Room Run and so on.

Candles
If you are buying for a girl, then this gift is a definite like by all woman. However, candles can get expensive at times and sometimes those cheap candles don't offer a great smell in the air. Head over to Walmart and check out their Mainstay Candle line. Right now they have some terrific smelling candles that start off at a dollar a piece. You could get 10 different candles, satisfy the person taste and still stay under budget.

Calendar
Every year at Christmas, when you head to the mall, there is always a vendor that is just setting up to sale calendars, Usually you can find one for under $10. Just make sure to get a theme with that person in mind. If you do not know what they like, then get one that shows different holidays on it. I am sure you can not go wrong with that theme.

Homemade Dessert
If you know your secret Santa person loves desserts, you could bake them some cookies. You could even make a festive holiday cake or cupcakes. Maybe you will get lucky and she or he will share them with everyone, including you. A gift is always great when you can share in it.

Dollar Store
Sometimes the dollar store can offer some great items. The best thing is all their stuff cost one dollar per item. Pick up some paper, blank cards, stationary, envelopes, pens, markers, and maybe some other little desk items anyone would love. You can get 10 items for ten dollars. If you want to skip buying ten items and only get 9, you can get a bag from the dollar store to put it all in and then you will still be at your budget.
