Here are a few secrets to potty training a toddler. Whether you are potty training a boy or girl, it's still a task. However, I learned a few secrets to potty training while raising my four children. Each child is potty trained in different ways because many toddlers don't grasp the concept of using the bathroom as easily as other toddlers. It's like school in the way that not all students learn the same, but that's a whole other article. Listed below you will find the secrets to potty training a toddler that will work if you stick with it. Some of the secrets to potty training toddlers may seem bizarre but rest assured they work if given time.

Secrets to Potty Training Toddlers - Boys

Boys are not easy to potty train. In fact, they seem to be harder. They will run from you just to keep from using the potty chair. Leaving you to run after them and drag them back to the potty chair. When I potty trained my two sons I realized quickly they didn't like potty chairs, so I did away with them all together. There was still a problem; they didn't want to use the toilet either. My thinking was if they do not use the potty chair or the toilet, how will I ever get them potty trained? Then I had a lighting bolt hit me. I live in the middle of no mans land in the country. No neighbors close enough to see into my yard so I will potty train them outdoors. Read on to find out the secret to potty training toddler boys outdoors. It really works; my two sons learned to potty in a week's time by using the bathroom outdoors.

1- Use a tree to potty train toddler boys. When you discover your son has got to "go" take him outside and ask him to "go" on a tree. If he refuses, ask him is it because you cannot hit the tree when peeing. You will soon discover every tree you have in your yard will be used to potty train your toddler boys.

2- Use a deck or porch to potty train toddler boys. Place an object that doesn't mean anything to you a couple feet away from your porch or deck. When your son has to potty, tell him to aim for the object in the yard. It will be like a game for him that will intrigue him enough to go potty.

Secrets to Potty Training Toddlers- Girls

Girls are not as difficult to potty train as boys. They adapt quickly to what you're trying to teach. Again, the outdoors is a great way to potty train toddler girls. However, they won't be using a tree to "go." Instead, bring out the potty chair because you will need it for training the girls.

1- Use the porch or deck to potty train toddler girls. Place the potty chair in the corner of the porch or deck. Have a small kids table placed beside it with a few of her favorite book to look at. Tell her when she has to potty that she will have her own special place to go potty when she is ready. Your toddler will use the potty chair quite often, which means she's been potty trained.

The secrets to potty training toddlers aren't difficult when you come up with ideas that will make them want to potty train.
