The Atlantic Terminal Mall is turning teenagers and their money away.
The mall and nearby terminal have been having serious and perpetual problems with crime. It's so bad that the Brooklyn Paper's Police Blotter describes it as "crime-ridden." Here's a sample of what's been going down recently:
Sept. 12 - shoplifting
Sept. 11 - attempted iPhone mugging
Sept. 3 - purse snatching
Aug. 27 - wallet theft
Aug. 20 - wallet theft
Aug. 19 - Mom and children shoplifting
July 27 - Diabetes strip theft

Crime at the mall is nothing new. So, in an effort to clean up its mess, the mall is enforcing a ban on teens. It doesn't want teens in groups of four or more to enter or linger around the mall without parents, according to the New York Times.
Several students from Brooklyn Technical High School are not happy about the ban, according to their forum.
Is the mall's practice fair? Should the good kids who don't commit crime or cause trouble be banned because of the kids who do? Is it discrimination to target one particular group such as teens? Do Brooklyn's teens have a bloody right to shop? Technically, they still do as long as they do it with an adult.
In the mall's defense, it is refreshing to see a business put customers' security before money.
What say you, Clinton Hill? Ban on teens at Atlantic Terminal Mall or no ban?
