Seduce Your Valentine with Your Sexy Voice

Expensive Lingerie NOT Required

Just how important is the tone of your voice during sexual encounters?

Researchers discovered that people whose voices are judged to be attractive tend to have sexual intercourse at an earlier age, have more sexual partners than those with voices rated less attractive, and are more prone to sexual infidelity.

They also have more sex partners among people involved in other relationships.

Such are the results of research in which 149 men and women were tested by having them listen to recorded, neutral voices counting from 1 to 10 as reported in "Ratings of voice attractiveness predict sexual behavior and body configuration" in September of 2004.

Men love to hear the tones of a woman's sexy voice. Whether it's husky or has that soft, caressing touch, a woman's voice can send shivers down a man's spine via his auditory system. Think of the Marilyn Monroe's famous "Happy Birthday" song or Liv Tyler's otherworldly tone in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy. If a woman's inflections sound like that, a man will fall for her from the ears on down. (www.askmen.com)

Women swoon at a sexy voice. Surprisingly the "silver voice" crowd usually draws the more intense response from women. Research among 1,000 adults by computer giant MSN Messenger showed that older people had the sexiest voices.

"We are much more aurally sensitive and stimulated than we think. Accents, pitch, pace and tone can all be turn-ons or turn-offs," said behavioral expert Judi James.

According to Renee Grant-Williams, expert voice coach to public speakers and some of the recording industry's biggest stars, with just a little forethought and simple training, anyone can turn their voice into a powerful sex tool that can be used to tempt and tickle their Valentine's fancy.

That bears repeating.

"Anyone can turn their voice into a powerful sex tool."

Grant-Williams also advises lovers and lovers-to-be to speak slower, more softly and to use slightly lower tones than normal.

"Tone of voice communicates sexual desire. For instance, a low, husky voice is what you wake up with and it suggests the bedroom," Grant-Williams says.

"A whispering voice implies intimacy. On the other hand, a whiny, chatty, motor-mouth is never sexy."

Grant-Williams says an irresistible voice begins by controlling breathing from below the waist.

To help you seduce your Valentine, Grant-Williams offers some tips to help keep your vocal cords sounding sexy:

-- Breathe from your lower body for a relaxed, controlled warm sound.

-- Speak slower, more softly and in a slightly lower tone than normal.

-- Maintain a fairly consistent body temperature by layering clothing and being prepared for excessive heat/air-conditioning.

-- Use a vaporizer to keep throat tissues moist, particularly while sleeping.

-- Proper breathing and good support are important in protecting your voice from the effects of overuse. This helps take the pressure off your throat by engaging the strong muscles of your lower body, instead of those around your neck and throat.

-- Soothe an irritated throat with serious sore throat medicine, such as Cepacol Extra Strength Lozenges or Cepacol Dual Action Sore Throat Sprays.

-- Avoid clearing your throat regularly.

-- Be conscious of any pressure you put on your vocal cords, especially since whispering is almost as damaging as yelling.

We can literally mold our voice to our will - if we so choose. We've all done it from time to time, faking a British or Southern accent for the fun of it, or because we were cast in a school play, but most of us leave it at that.

"Finally, if you want to seduce, try saying nothing." Grant-Williams says.

"Sometimes, silence is the most intriguing and intimate way to speak the language of romance - communicate just with your eyes."

How about a deep sexy voice with an accent? I love that. It could be any accent. I don't care. Hehe. Great article as always. You should really have a bigger clout # by now. You have a clout of 10. You really are that good. Bye

Awww - that is such crap!!! You totally just got downrated to bump you off the front page! Sorry - you're much higher than a 4.2.....this should be back at the 4.8!

I'm with you on that one AMJ - I should have made this an AC Experiment. How many of us have a spouse or significant other with a "sexy voice"? I'm with Jean - if my DH ever had a sexy voice it left with the stroke. On the other hand - I'm practicing my Eartha Kit impression when he's not around. I'll unveil it someday soon when he phones in on break!!

This is a very fascinating article. I keep trying to tell my husband that his tone of voice is very important but he doesn't seem to get it. *sigh* Excellent job on this!

Thanks for the walk down Memory Lane. Voice quality is one of the things I really miss since my husband got aphasia. He had the sexist, deep voice.
