You can see lush landscapes, incredibly scenic mountains, summits that seem to climb to the sky, beautiful lakes, scenic overlooks, riverbanks, trails, steep cliffs, wildlife, and much more any season of the year you decide to tour the Vail, Colorado, area in a hot air balloon. The tours of Vail, Bachelor Gulch, and Beaver Creek are offered all year round by Camelot Balloons of Vail. Some say there is a special, but different kind, of beauty for all to see in each season in Colorado. There are plenty of other things to do and see while you are in the area that is known for its skiing in the winter and fun summer vacations.

Each balloon used by Camelot Balloons in Vail is FAA certified and can accommodate from four to eight passengers. The pilots are also FAA certified and experienced in flying in the mountains. If advance notice is given, larger groups can be accommodated. Many who have taken the flights say they are breathtaking, and anyone on a vacation would enjoy the trip.

Flights can be from 30 minutes to 75 minutes, or longer. Taste of ballooning rides are 30-40 minutes long and can include chase participation. Full excursions can last as long as those onboard make it, but at least 60 minutes long. The average flight is 75 minutes. All standard trips include a hot beverage, a ceremony after the flight, a certificate and a champagne toast. Those going on a full excursion also receive a picnic after the flight.

The taste of ballooning rides are $190 for all people of all ages. The other rides are $225 for children from 6-12 and those older than 65. For everyone else, they are $275.

Some people have taken a flight to propose marriage. The owners of the balloon service say they do not know of anyone who has turned down a proposal while on such a flight! Many people have taken hot air balloon rides during a family reunion or corporate event.

Those on the trips often take a camera to take pictures of the beautiful mountains, lakes, scenic overlooks, riverbanks, cliffs, and other scenery. Other items important to take along are hiking or walking shoes, repellent boots, and warm clothing, because the trips usually begin shortly after sunrise.

Those taking the trips have had many positive things to say about their trip.

"I just wanted to thank you for allowing my grandmother's wishes to come true...Just seeing the glow on her face sure made my husband and I feel so good!" Those were the comments made by R and M of Colorado Springs, Colorado, on the website,camelotballons.com.

"Our balloon ride last week was one of the most wonderful experiences we have ever had, "M of Dallas, Texas said on the same website. "We will treasure the memories forever."
