After the Air Force based closed its doors in 1994, the museum changed its name to the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum. Currently, the museum is home to over three dozen military aircraft and space vehicles ranging from a rare B-18A Bolo to a Star Wars X-Wing fighter. There is also a replicated full-size manned space station crew module and various display exhibits like the Francis Gary Powers Memorial and the Eisenhower Room, which is based on President Eisenhower. But the unique display that the museum has to offer is the B-52 that is actually located at the museum's front door.
On every second Saturday of the month there is something called, "Demo Cockpit Day" where visitors get to climb inside of the cockpits and experience a pilot's point of view.
The museum also offers children a chance to experience the aircrafts and space first hand with their Summer Camp Program and their Adventures of Flight Program.
Visitors can purchase memorabilia such as artwork, books, publications and children's books, toys, jewelry, caps, t-shirts, and bomber jackets from the museum's store. There is a discount available for the store with your paid museum membership.
