New York City is a city of excitement and delicious food. But why break the bank if you could save some money with these few insider tips?

Sony Wonder Lab (located at 56th Street and Madison Avenue in New York, New York) is a hidden technology gem for kids and the kids at heart. It is a free attraction that is unknown to most people. At the front door, you are greeted by a talking robot who can actually respond intelligently to you! This is a must see for the kids. Then an escort takes you inside the museum where you receive your own ID. The lab is filled with interactive games and activities that involve music, animation, sounds, touch and sense. The activities are to educate and to entertain. Sony also offers theaters in the lab. After you are done exploring the lab, you get a certificate with your picture for a memento. Best part of all is the lab's unique, futuristic decor and the strong air conditioning. This is a guaranteed hit with the little kids and the big kids who just want to have fun.

The list of restaurants is endless, here's only a few: 21 Club, Aquavit, Cafe Boulud, Chanterelle, TAO Restaurant, One if by Land, Two if by Sea. Eat our every night of the week from July 16-20 and July 23-27 and you would not have to feel guilty. Make reservations early by calling directly to the restaurant or at opentable.com. Some recommended places from Heather Cross's About.com guide include: Mesa Grill, Tabla, Gramercy Tavern, River Cafe, Tocqueville, Eleven Madison Park, Cafe Des Artistes, Union Square Cafe, and Bolo. The enticing deals will sure build up your appetite!

Want to catch a Broadway show for cheap? Check out "rush" tickets at the box office. The system usually works like this, but check out details for your specific show: line up a few hours before your show and place your name in a hat for lottery. If you are one of the lucky 25 picked, you get to purchase 2 tickets for under $30 each. Bring your ID for approval (some rush tickets are only for students). The seats are usually the first few rows of the orchestra section. Check out http://www.talkinbroadway.com/boards/index.php?category=&rush=show&order= for the lastest on your Broadway show? Want to save 50% off on original prices and pay $50-$75 a ticket? At the TKTS booth is where you will find discounted same-day tickets without lotteries. The line is usually long but the deals are worth it. Check out their great prices at Times Square.
