From Flagstaff, you can take I-40 west to Highway 64, which leads you directly to the Grand Canyon National Park South rim entrance.
You can also enter the East entrance of the Grand Canyon National Park, known as Desert View, by traveling north on Humphreys Street to Columbus Ave, then to Highway 180. Take Highway 180 west to Highway 64 to the East entrance.
You can also follow history Route 66 northeast to Highway 89, take Highway 89 north for approximately 65 miles, go west onto Highway 64, and take Highway 64 to the East entrance on the South Rim.
If you would prefer to see the North Rim of the Canyon, take US 89 and US 89A north from Flagstaff. At the top of the Kaibab Plateau turn south on Highway 67.
To get to the West Rim area to visit the famous Skywalk, take I-40 west to Kingman. Go north on Stockton Hill Road to Pierce Ferry Road north to Diamond Bar Road. Continue east on Diamond Bar Road which ends at the only entrance to Grand Canyon West. You will have to take the park-and-ride shuttle to get to Grand Canyon West and the Skywalk.
From Flagstaff, you can make a one day trip to the Grand National Park, if you like, stopping at the Grand Canyon Market Plaza for lunch or to book one of the half-day rafting or hiking trips. These tours can be booked at any lodge within the Park.
Flagstaff has a number of lodging facilities available to make your Grand Canyon visit both comfortable and convenient.
