"And my words will be here when I'm gone..." - "Sympathetic"

Some people wish for the world, some wish for riches and fame, but others just wish to make a difference in peoples lives, and want to leave the world with it better than when they entered it.

Shaun Morgan, singer and guitarist for the South African band Seether is the soul leader of this expression. His family shunned him for his love of rock music and Shaun was determined to stand for what he loved. After forming the band back in 1999, the boys quickly grew into an epidemic in their home country. They had no idea that Fragile, their first African release, would become one of the best selling albums of the year.

The band strived to have a relationship with their fans. they wanted to form a bond between band and fan base. Everyone was touched when the front man wrote a song called "Fine Again" which was about a family whose daughter had passed away from an overdosage. The song was meant to inspire her life and the family bonded with the band and was thrilled when they learned that they were going to the US to broaden their fan base.

The band came to the United States in 2002 where they released their second album Disclaimer. the album quickly took off and defianly put Seether on the map for all rock lovers.

A few years later the band decided to hook up with goth rock princess Amy Lee. (lead singer of evanescense) to co sing the famously known song Broken off their second album. The newly recorded song was a hit and was on top of the charts for weeks. It put Seether on the map.

After only a few years of being on top of their game, Seethers guitarist, and Shaun's brother comitted suicide in 2007. Shaun wrote a song in his honor on their album "Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces"

Seether has come a long way since their first release in 1999. Shaun and the boys have made it a hard road, and I look forward to seeing what else they have for us fans. It can only be the best I'm sure. Shaun and the boys deserve every bit of happiness and success they recieve. They are an amazing bunch and very talented. Keep up the good job boys, looking forward in seeing what else you have for us fans.
