What! You got to be kidding me. Did anyone watch Dr. Phil? I couldn't believe that most of the Caucasian race can actually think that sentencing a young black man for a fight, in which, the white child was out within 2-3 days from the hospital and made it to his ring ceremony in time, appropriate and not too extreme!!
This all takes me back to the fact that America is severely racist and undercover about it. It isn't right to be ignorant as the white people but thats why they are called teenagers. You can't laugh about the fact that you hung my ancestors from a tree and think that i am not going to react. Many of us aren't healed yet. Are you kidding me? What is funny is how the Caucasian society is now behaving. All of a sudden in Columbia, they are hanging a noose in front of one of the black professor's door, but thats OK to many of our white people? It is wrong, as they have been for years. It will never be something that we can laughabout. Now they are also hanging nooses from the back of their trucks, and they call us the hateful ones!!
How dare them not understand why those boys were hurt? How dare the family of that pitiful white boy say he didn't know what the noose meant when he hung it under his "White's only" tree??? They think we are stupid!!? I am not saying act stupid like the Caucasians that are being racist, but it can be hard and hurtful to not have emotions when someone laughs about killing your people.
Racism is here more than ever. White people marry our kind, tan their skin to look like ours, braid their hair to be like us, perm their hair to look like us, learn our songs to sound like us, yet they are still hateful to a race that they try so hard to mimick. They are confused and jealous and i am hurt for those boys and what that Caucasian boy did! People are crying for him getting a little beating, what about all the black people that got lynched, beat, babies torn out their bodies, women raped by white men, babies sold from their parents, why not make a big deal about that? That little devilish boy knew what he was doing and i am sure he learned it from his parents. They try to act so naive, but you can tell when a person is lying.
If you watched Dr. Phil that night, the old white man said, "why can't we have our own tree and blacks have their own"? No white person argued with him so what does that tell us about how they truly feel about us? Watch your kids carefully.

Post a CommentOh yes and speaking as a person, I judge people by how they behave not by the color of their skin. However, I felt that since your article discussed how white people do not care about balck people and how they want segregation, I used the terms white and black. I pray for the problems of everyone not just a select few. Not all white people are evil racists, some of us actually do care.
I'm not sure what to say to this article. I am a white woman, but I don't do anything wrong to black people. I just try to live a peaceful life. I guess it is not fair to generalize a whole group of people for what a few ignorant ones do. Thanks.

Mrs. Drake coninued: AC's Mary Coe is like me; we have ehnically diverse families and to segreate (based on what???) would leave out a large portion of the US population. Mrs. Drake to answer your query, no I do not want segregation. I grew up in a better (well that depends) place and time when black students could sit under any tree they wanted on school property, without any fear of lynch threats. In my town, blacks could go to any Barber shop they wanted. No "Whites Only" signs. The kid in the picture is adoreable. He should not be held to a higher standard of "biting his tongue" against verbal attacks and hater's words.
Sigh. Sooner: Reread the article and perhaps you can begin to understand "sticks and stones" better go read the timeline of events. Teens that claim to go to Jena High School have been very active online. You obviously are stuck, as I said earlier, in your bias created by media. BTW, with a fair trial and witnesses called, you may just learn the truth about Barker. DA WALTERS SAID THE TEENS tried to murder Justin. So why are you saying I said you said? Rhetoric. This article is about what US Citizens want.
It has already been proven in court that DA Walters levied charges against 6 teens that were not warrented by the facts of the case that can be proven in court. If a white adult (22 is legally considered adult) can threaten to shoot black teens (minors under the law) and have no charges brought against him, and 2 or more white teens (and/or the 22 year old) and only one is charged with "simple assualt" then, I suppose equal justice would be for a "simple assualt" charge placed upon which ever of the 6 that participated in expressing their anger over Justin's use of the N word.
But if I were to decide fate and punishments, than, gee I think every man that has laid his hands on his wife, breaking her arms, nose, blakening her eyes, should indeed go to jail for 22 to 100 years for premeditated, attempted murder and savage beatings. Provided, of course, she can prove that he beat her in court. Of course, bullies like to do their dirty deeds sans witnesses. There are, btw, in this case witnessess that can attest that Justin provoked a fight.
Ah, Sooner, I believe people are innocent until proven guilty, beyond a shadow of doubt, in a fair and imparitial court of law. I find it incredulous that anyone could believe that students plotted to kill Justin Barker and felt the school yard was the best place to implement their plan. I find it easy to believe that a student could lose his temper after being taunted by Justin Barker and haul off and land a punch to his temple. I do not like, nor condone violence and fighting.
Sooner: the White Supremast that appeared on Dr. Phil's show said that if it was put to a vote, the people would vote in favor of segregation. If you read this article you might understand why nooses on a College Professor's door is going to bring to mind Emmett Till among thousands of others who have been harmed by whites simply due to being black. As Mrs. Drake pointed out 90% of US citizens are the product of mixed ethnicities. Nooses have gotta go as does a double standard of (in)justice that targets persons of color.
