Select Comfort Number Beds: A Review

A few years ago, my husband was having such a hard time with back problems. He is a crane millwright, and he does a lot of climbing, bending and stretching for his job. We aren't as young as we used to be. We saw this advertisement for the Comfort Number Beds, and I decided it was time for us to upgrade. I went to the store in White Marsh Maryland and actually laid down on their mattress.

They offered to show me how it worked and I was able to adjust the level of firmness on the mattress. I purchased it on the spot and had it delivered to my home. When I ordered the bed I had them deliver it to my home. I thought for sure that the box that I would receive it would be huge, to my utter surprise it was this box around 4 feet high and it contained my queen sized bed mattress. Upon receipt of this box we were skeptable that it actually contained a queen sized mattress, however we decided to give the darn thing a try. Now my husband and I opted out of paying for their technicians to assemble it, the instructions were easy enough to read and we did it ourselves.

I like my side of the bed firm, whereas Ray prefers a softer mattress. There is a central box that sits underneath the bottom of your bed, there are dual remote controls that you can operate from either side of the bed and they tuck away underneath so not one can see them. The bed itself was easy to assemble. It came in three parts, with two air mattresses that inflated after you hooked up the power source. Once the air mattresses were attached to the power source we zippered up the covering and away it went.

We really enjoy this mattress. I found that I do get a better night's sleep when I can adjust the firmness to suit the way my back or legs feel at the end of the day. I know that my husband enjoys it, I haven't heard many complaints about an aching back in the mornings after he adjusts it to his needs.

It really wasn't that expensive either. We have had ours for three years now, and it still works just fine. I found out when the power went out due to an electrical storm during the summer that the mattress did not deflate and kept the firmness setting that we had previously established. Works good for me. Happy sleeping.

Yes, we had our Sleep comfort for several years with great comfort. However, we are noticing the black or brown something developing between the layers of foam and the air mattresses.

No not yet, I have asked the company how to clean it. They said there is a special cleaner because you cannot throw them into the washing machine and you cannot turn them over. So I haven't boguht the cleaner yet, Used just clean soap and water then dried it with a hiar dryer, so far so good.

I had a sleep number bed a couple years ago for about 6 months; (my ex got it when we split), afterwards, I heard a lot about mold growing inside the mattress. Have you noticed anything of this sort with yours?
